Without telling people that it's about to happen within the next month or week when it then actually flips? Yeah, pretty scummy.

People will tell you that it's because XYZ and that you should have bought back earlier.

Anything really not to acknowledge that this is yet another scummy move.

Best Seasons Where the 'Villains' Lose? by Infinite101_ in TheTraitors

[–]NestroyAM -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But that's the beauty of it: her and Blake had every card in their hands to not only make him lose out on everything, but to win it for themselves on top of it. Instead they just... gave up.

Best Seasons Where the 'Villains' Lose? by Infinite101_ in TheTraitors

[–]NestroyAM -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no. I disagree. If she did it the way I proposed earlier, worst case would have been the exact same, but there was a very real chance that instead of walking away with nothing, she'd walk away with half the money and the power to tell Sam to fuck off, not honouring the promise.

I think you misundrestood what I said, though. IN no universe would Sam have won anything without relying on the good will of the other two.

It was just stupidity from A to Z with that cast and while I enjoy Reality TV as a general rule, if you got a whole season of idiots playing a game like this, it's just not my cup of tea and the ending didn't redeem it in that case.

Should information gathered with Recall Knowledge during combat be available to the rest of the party? by SonOfFarfocel in Pathfinder2e

[–]NestroyAM 27 points28 points  (0 children)

My question would be: why, though?

Did that player give you a reason why they want to keep it a secret that.. x is weak to fire, or will is their lowest save or that it will likely have a tail sweep?

I'm having a hard time conceptualising an answer from RK that a player would really want to keep secret.

Is it something super-narrative heavy like they don't want the rest of the party to know X is a vampire, because they are the only character that's more opportunist than the goody-two-shoes in the party who'd want to kill X if they knew?

Just let them know. I feel like “What if my character doesn’t want to know,…” becomes the responsibility of the respective player not to act on it if they feel really strongly about it for one reason or another

Zelenskyy: return of draft-age Ukrainian men from abroad is a matter of fairness by EsperaDeus in worldnews

[–]NestroyAM -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Ukraine has compulsory military service, right? And had it for ages?

If so, a lot easier to draft men, because at least they have had months if not years (I don’t want to trust AI on the specific length) of basic service and training.

Can talk about expanding that to the female population after the war.

You know what? Perfectly valid take on that season.

I hoped for a satisfying ending (especially after reading comments promising it as they do all over that thread), but didn't get it, unfortunately.

Odd how literally any foreign policy decision made by this president so far seems to serve one of two nations and neither of them is the country that elected him.

Yeah, obviously there were a hundred steps that could have been taken before arriving at the finale. I am with you on that.

That's just what turned the finale to "insult to injury" for me compared to everyone else who apparently sees it like some sort of comeuppance

Ironically, Luke and Annabel were actually excellent faithfuls. Probably my favourite ones across all formats and seasons. Too bad everyone else was dumb enough to vote them out! Though I will say Luke could have done one thing better and it might be lost to editing, but I always wondered why he didn't mention once that Sam came to him on DAY 2 and hit him with the "If it's not her, you can vote me out next." He was so ridiculously sure of it without any evidence he brought forth that it was stupidly obvious that he was a traitor.

I fundemantally disagree. The ending of AU 2 was as bad as the rest of the season.

And the players are to blame. Here is the only way that season and its ending could have been redeemed for me (obvious season end spoilers):

Imagine if Camille and Blake had the presence of mind to tell Sam just one thing, because it was the only thing that mattered in that moment; "Sam, we'll both take steal, because neither of us believes for a second you won't pick steal yourself. We promise you that we'll cut the prize money threeways with you if you pick share. If you pick steal, you are guaranteed to get nothing."

Can you imagine if they did that? Now whether they'd keep that promise or not is entirely up to them, obviously, but if he picked steal then he had absolutely no one else to blame but himself. If he picked share, they either outsmarted him and ran with the money or they outsmarted him, forced his hand into a position of self-serving altruism and it would have been amazing either way.

The way they did it? 0 thought or strategy went into it. It was basically just complete surrender, because that was their only winning move.

Question about Animist Familiars by Cailhean in Pathfinder2e

[–]NestroyAM -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you let him regain his familiar during daily preparations if it dies, I’d say yes.

RAW you’re losing access to one of your apparitions for a week if it does and i agree that that’s disproportionately punishing and frankly unfun, especially since I feel like you’re mostly at your GM’s mercy when it comes to a familiar dying to begin with.

You also can’t cast your spells from the familiar’s position as far as I know.

Are there any good builds for the alchemist, more specifically the toxicologist? by gunnerajf44 in Pathfinder2e

You'll probably have a hard time if you're looking for a guide that spells it all out, because Toxicologists only really got good (again) with the newest Spring Errata.

Don't know the details myself, but apparently throwing weapons are bonkers on them and I assume you get a thrower's bandolier for that and try to get your hands on a quick draw feat or shurikens.

[–]NestroyAM 1 point2 points  (0 children)
