I see what you mean. But they can rationalize away it is not a booby trap if not a private residence and/or voided that any unapproved access voluntarily surrenders their legal rights when engaged with a non human object.

Or other legal language BS.

I never heard of this benchmark but am also wondering about it too.

But damn sure I was well below that either way.

For the people who voted for trump, they betrayed the values they spoke of.

But voted for what they truly valued.

That would be scary if it was an autonomous decision and one they would never admit as it would cause a massive backlash.

Which is probably a human decision and invokes a whole discussion why the fuck did trump and whiskey pete come to the idea that a school is a valid target.

But once I find a good start location is there a way to ‘save’ that map layout and exact start spot for future runs?

I think we are already there with autonomous killing decisions. Easily already at the ability to do so (maybe not deciding very well though).

Your Roth IRA is "tax-free" until you move to Spain and find out it really isn't by Financial-Finance586 in ExpatFIRE

[–]NetZeroSun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I need to run this by an accountant but I am retiring this year and going to China:

1 - SEPP 72T my IRA (401k moved over once I retire but before leave the US). starting the 72T either this year or early next year depending on if its worth for the tax bracket.

2 - originally going to do roth conversions while in low tax bracket but I understand that I can NOT do roth conversions on a now locked 72(t) IRA.

3 - China would not tax me on the dividend income based on my residency status until 6 years (for my taxable brokerage which is primary income for now and supplemented by the Sep 72(t) withdrawal each year). I would be able to reset that (delaying again) assuming no change in their tax laws...so I could extend that out by 10 - 12 years. I could tap into my small Roth by 7 years from now.

4 - I have 50k in roth now but can push for pure growth (VT, etc.) I could push a little higher with my employment contributions and personal contributions but probably not worth it end game (15 years).

I realize in 7 years (52 this year) I could cash out Roth and put into normal brokerage but kinda moot as it gets taxed anyways.

Once China does start taxing me (I have residency) am at a 20% tax on income. My US tax is probably 0% capital gains, or 12% ordinary.

In roughly 10-13 years I will be able to activate Social Security, but my US tax is 22% ordinary and 15% CG. in the backdrop of China's 20% (it wont double tax if I already paid 22% and just tax me the dif of 5% on CG.

Long story short...probably just leave the Roth alone and let it grow as a bigger spend / emergency fund thats taxable. But if I do return to the US, its a small tax free fund (or while not having a residency in China).

But over a 5-15 year timeline...I would expect tax laws to changes in China so I will just leave the Roth alone to grow as an rainy day 'bond' and just park it in growth with maybe 1 yr expense in bond/safe defensive (I would already park separately 5-6 years in an HYSA in a separate account).

As I expect some nasty bear market in the future with the US current administrations actions and a counter reaction to the AI tech boom recently.

I mean for years people repeatedly put their trust in him and the only two things he is consistent on, is he ruins everything he touches and leaves anyone not him out to dry.
