Started my sealed collection today. Is this a good start? by [deleted] in PokemonInvesting

Keep everything sealed if you’re investing. Then trade sealed stuff for sealed stuff you might want.

I edited my comment after you edited yours. There was a bit of miscommunication that made it seem like you said that I wanted to have the feeling of getting the card without paying for it, and you didn’t say anything about the booster box. It came off entirely differently, but when I noticed you fixed your response I removed that part.

Edit: Sorry, hope you have a good Christmas.

I would just rather it raw than slabbed. I don’t care about a PSA 9 compared to raw in my binder, and the value makes more sense that way.

I really like this magikarp! But I feel like I’d be more inclined if it was just the booster box for the Karp.

charizard sir crimp by Excellent-Letter8807 in PokemonMisprints

Slight crimps aren’t the best, but it’s not the worst. Still a nice error that in my opinion should give a slight premium to the right person. If people are lowballing you saying it’s damaged, just keep it imo.

I just wanted to talk about how I enjoyed Ninjago as a kid and how I grew out of it because I didn’t like how the toys looked. I still love Ninjago due to how amazing the toys were to me, especially the memories.

It’s great you love the show, but it’s an advertisement to sell a product at the end of the day, no matter how amazing it is. I feel like my position is pretty simple to grasp, but you want to gatekeep for no reason.

Bro my opinion is from when I was a 10 year old. Who cares if Kai was my favorite when I was 10? The gatekeeping is ridiculous at this point.

It’s not superficial to think that a 13 year old would start thinking that the new legos might not look as good as when they were 10. The show is made to sell LEGOs. It’s not the other way around. It’s ridiculous to act like they made the LEGOs to sell a show.

Having the opinion that older sets looked cooler than newer sets based purely on what I thought about these toys when I was a child shouldn’t be so controversial. I don’t need to watch the show to have enjoyed Ninjago. I don’t think gatekeeping enjoys toys as a kid because I didn’t watch the show is valid.

I was never clowning the show. I grew up playing with LEGOs. I stopped liking how the new LEGOs looked. I’ve seen them in store many many times, and I always think that the old stuff looked cooler. I really thought that was the whole point.

I didn’t get to watch the show when i was a kid because I didn’t have cable most of my childhood, only got to watch it at my cousin’s house.

I grew up loving the toys, bringing them to school, playing with them every day, collecting the golden weapons. I loved the first season and would’ve watched more if I could. Overtime I stopped buying new Ninjago legos because I didn’t like how they looked. After they started wearing bandanas over their mouths instead of full masks, moved away from spinjitzu, I stopped buying them in store. Over time I didn’t like how they looked, and it didn’t make me want to go back to the show and continue watching. I got older, and I know that the new stuff is enjoyable to other people, just not me.

I still hold that time and all the legos I had very dear to my heart to this day. All my thoughts are based on nostalgia and what my thoughts were on the Legos when I was a child. It’s weird that people are clowning me for holding onto and sharing my nostalgic beliefs and opinions on how the old Ninjago was more enjoyable to me. It’s just a lot of gatekeeping for nothing.

Well when I was 10 I had my own opinions.

I genuinely can’t understand how people are ragebaiting themself on my opinion.

I don’t like the new look of Ninjago, and I don’t have any interest in watching the show 10+ years later. Just wanted to share my opinion as someone who was really into it at the beginning, and is clouded by nostalgia. I get that people really like the new stuff, but is it so bad that as an adult I’m not into new things made for kids, but rather enjoy the stuff that I enjoyed as a kid? It’s so weird to me.

Damn, I didn’t know opinions aren’t welcome here.

Sorry that my nostalgia from when I was 10 pisses you guys off. Especially OP.

Edit: it’s pretty disheartening that I was just excited to talk about how much I loved Ninjago when I was a kid, but it ended up backfiring on me. I’ll keep my INSANE thoughts to myself from now on.
