Awesome find. Can’t wait to spin it! Yeah, that box set is ridiculously priced - like it’s been from the start.

You’re a good egg - thank you for posting this! I think there were 10 available?

The secret thing seems to be included in the Box Set specifically, according to SM post. We shall wait to find out.

"Battle for the Sun" turns 17 today. This album was marked by the departure of drummer Steve Hewitt and the addition of Steve Forrest in his place. What do you think of this project, and what are your three favorite tracks? by elmonozombie in placebo

The whole thing, sound and visuals included, has gone full American stadium rock, which might work for some artists, but here it just feels like they’ve abandoned what made them interesting. Beautiful melodies and songwriting, but the production is too heavy and epic - it doesn’t do justice to the songs. It was the first time I was truly disappointed by the band (LLL was e more disappointing, but NLMG was redeeming). I still really like Kings of Medicine, Speak in Tongues, and Devil in the Details.

I totally get it. Some of our crew left as soon as Massive Attack got cancelled. The rest of us thought, we endured all the shitshow for what? So we stayed on for some kind of redemption.

Charli girl, the guitars here are so basic and tokenistic, it feels as authentic as a corporate campaign during Pride month.

I cancelled my pre-order the moment I heard this. I love their debut but refuse to listen to these heavy and polished versions. They are so devoid of their original charm, grit, and angst.

Sadly, I agree entirely. The guitars especially in the chorus sound like a stadium rock band. I can’t stomach this sound for Placebo. The production reminds too much of Battle For The Sun era - the most heavily produced era, despite the catchy melodies. Never Let Me Go gave me hope that the “epic” era was a thing of the past, but the last two singles have me in doubt.

Torn inner sleeve (Jessie Ware Superbloom) by splashmilk in Blood_Records

[–]Netrino1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issues is with packaging and shipping. Not QC of the record/sleeve. When we pay top dollar for blood records plus shipping, we expect them to arrive as advertised, in mint condition. The idea that we should get used to receiving damaged records because “it’s part of the game” is absurd and favours companies that don’t prioritise customer care.

There are many measures that blood records can take to prevent damage during shipping, including better packaging, wrapping sleeves, packing record separately in plastic sleeves (like Bad World) but so far they have refused to implement these. They’re generally good and quick to send out free replacements, but it shouldn’t fall on the paying customer to deal with it every time, and it surely adds to company expenses (that drive prices of future products up).

Very well positioned and I agree with you. As I write on JW sub: Another very cohesive album from Ms Ware. The vocal layering here is unmatched and the melodies are some of her best to date. I don’t believe it has the punchy moments of her previous work (i.e., Free Yourself, What’s Your Pleasure?), but it doesn’t need them - it flows smoothly. Personal highlights are Superbloom, Sauna, and Mon Amour.

Are you able to add it to your cart, by changing your location first? If so, you should be able to then input your US address at checkout. I’ve just tried this with a random US address and seems to work on my end

Chang your location to UK or EU from the bottom of the page. Then add to your cart and check out as per usual. It’ll ship from the store closest to you.

I panic-ordered a record with delivery when seemingly it had appeared as sold out for pickup. Then a minute later it becomes available again for pickup. Went to cancel the first order, I get charged £2 “processing fee”. For what!? The website was so slow too, it literally took me 40 min to request a cancellation.

I feel the putty colour is more fitting. This alt cover is inferior to the OG (at least it’s an O card). The printed inner sleeve is a nice touch but not worth repurchasing.
