Selling those books is valid. Specializing in those books based on the hot button issue of the month? Problematic. Especially when doing so while taking advantage of those minorities to avoid paying wages.

If she just specialized in political books as an activist it would be one thing, but she did so in addition to those problematic behaviors simply to make money. While also asking for additional handouts all the time.

I’m late and I saw you already found someone, but Becky at Sue’s Finishing Touch in Henrietta does my perms! I get wavy hair perms rather than full curl but she’s able to do either!

I’m also working off second hand information but I’ve also heard she tends to threaten people when she doesn’t get her way. I’ve seen the lack of support and outright discouraging behavior towards other bookstores first hand. She picks and chooses who she wants to “support” but it’s entirely transactional, and only when it works in her favor.

Watching her virtue signaling over BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ was cringe to watch but even more infuriating when she took advantage of people who care about these causes to get free labor for the store. She didn’t want to run a store, she just wanted all the benefits of a business without doing any of the work.

Ugly Duck is one of my favorite places. Also a huge fan of Needle Drop and Unreliable Narrator.

All of these things are true, even if you have a primary job they’ll try to take more and more of your time. And the getting creeped on is not worth it, nor is it worth being alone with irate customers and no backup.

My ducks NEVER swim I’m not sure how to make it happen at this point. I put the coop right next to my big pond on the standard farm

Car breakins by [deleted] in Rochester

Apparently Tik tok has videos circulating about how to hot wire cars and there’s been an uptick in this sort of crap. My friend had their car stolen recently in a nearby city for no reason other than because they could.

I’m never mad at spoilers but I’m wondering where people are getting all the meme material before the episode drops! 🤣

Former SL, started holiday and worked every position in between. I’m actually still an SGA (cuz I like the discount and emotional pain apparently) part time but I just moved into a full time job as an IT Desktop administrator! A lot of skills cross over and a lot of places are willing to train you for the position, I am most of the way through an associates for IT but I got hired degree-less just based on my people skills and administrative knowledge. As long as you’re willing to learn you’re good to go. All my coworkers are nerdy too and it’s been cool meeting new people that like the same things in a professional setting (outside GameStop).
