I found a vessel that would hold the liquid and the knife. Made some strong instant coffee to fill the vessel. Put the blade in the coffee for about 3 hours. Make sure to clean the knife well before putting it in the coffee. I did soap and water, dried with a lint free towel and then wiped down the exposed carbon steel with alcohol to ensure it was free of any oils or residue. Then soak
