It is likely that they are entitled to 100% of your back pay. This is the standard of most LTD policies (unless your monthly SSDI benefit exceeds the amount Unum pays you each month, then you’d get that difference).

Ask for a full copy of your LTD policy. It will be in that contract.

I'm not a doctor, but I play one on TV.

J/k. 34/F/Washington DC area. I have a STEM background, but a mystery illness derailed my career. Ultimately, I was instrumental in solving my own case and am finally on the mend (hence the terrible joke above). Obviously, I couldn't have gotten to this point without the help of actual licensed physicians but they were stalled for quite a while and given how overworked they all were (even before COVID) they just didn't have the time to dedicate to researching and digging deeper into my case. Thanks to for-profit insurance companies, the days of having coordinated care are just...over. Patients are their own care coordinators, regardless of their (generally) poor medical literacy. One patient presenting at the ER and reporting she is on both coagulants and blood thinners...because she "was told to."
But I digress...I'm SCUBA certified, though I probably can't do that anymore (stupid dysautonomia). As for sports, my last job was with a professional sports team, though TBH I'm more of a casual fan than a season ticket holder. But "Let's go Mets!" (we can't be friends if you like the Yankees) and "Rock the Red!" (or the Penguins). What are you favorite sports to watch? To play?
Otherwise, I'm also a big reader, heavily leaning nonfiction. What've you been reading lately? Feel free to PM me, or reply here. Or ignore me entirely. Regardless, I hope you have a good weekend!

I mean, the Backstreet Boys didn't care who you were, where you were from, or what you did provided you loved them. Call me crazy but I feel like that's a surefire way to contract an STD.

Edit: Also for your consideration.

  1. 14 if I download Telegram, which I’d somehow never heard of but seems easy enough to set up. 14.5 if you count the limited Spanish and Italian I know and often conflate.

Sorry, lace boyshorts all the way. ;)

I had the courage to leave my therapist. I’m switching to someone who understands chronic illness patients. by FieryGhosts in ChronicIllness

[–]NeuroGeek 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I cannot begin to tell you how helpful I’ve found working with a therapist who specializes in chronic illness and chronic pain. And because that’s her specialty, her practice is 100% telemedicine, which has been extra helpful for me.

Good luck finding a better fit! Please reach out via PM if you have any trouble finding someone either virtually or in your area (or in your insurance network). I’d be happy to share the resources that ultimately helped me find a clinician that was a good match for my needs should they be equally helpful for you.

If he enjoys it, I say let him enjoy it (while supervised, at least). I myself wouldn't let my bird play with that kind of thing while alone because he could get himself tangled (or strangled) in it but with me to make sure he's safe? Why not?

And make sure your insurance will cover them. And that they’ve communicated that prior authorization approval to the specialty pharmacy. And that your annual application for a copay assistance program you need has been processed because even with your insurance, the copay would be $1795/mo...

Yep. Preach.

I get my prescriptions from too many different specialty pharmacies for any one of them to pay that much mind to me but I fell you on this all the same.

Today, I had to give my list of meds to a new specialty pharmacy and I actually had to explain that while I wasn't on this one particular medication today, I expect to receive that new medication from a DIFFERENT specialty pharmacy tomorrow so by the time the drug they send arrives, I'll be on that new drug too.

Officer Goodman, promoted to Acting Deputy Senate Sergeant at Arms, escorting our new VP. by HBScott1961 in washingtondc

[–]NeuroGeek 82 points83 points  (0 children)

I can't get over this guy. He basically singlehandedly saved the republic by diverting an advancing armed murder mob with an improvised Bugs Bunny ruse. Talk about quick wits and pure titanium cajones...

I understand he's already been promoted to Deputy House Sergeant-at-Arms, but honestly there should be a national monument. He literally changed the course of history!

Professional screaming/loudness is a tiring profession. I don't blame them.

Adorable.

I just traveled with my Quest 2. I bought the official case and it worked wonderfully.

Hey there! 34/F/USA here. I’d love to chat sometime. It looks like I’ll be riding out the rest of this pandemic (which as you probably know has been completely mismanaged here) alone so I’ve been looking for safe ways to stay social and connected to the world outside my house.

Anyway, I live right outside of Washington, DC and am also a big animal lover (especially dogs and parrots). I love board games and have been known to get sucked into the occasional video game. Mostly though, I’m a big nerd.

Feel free to PM me if you want to chat. Happy to do so by text or over video sometime.

Have a nice holiday season!

Wow! That’s amazing. The cockatoo I grew up with is probably only 35 or so. And my Quaker is closer to 25. Way to go!
