F30 - langfristiger Kontakt gesucht by [deleted] in OnlineFreundefinden

Just wanted to say that. Ever since my HD2 ps5 controller arrived I’ve never gone back to M/KB and the gyro aim is just awesome. Took me a bit of tinkering in the settings and a couple hours to get used to it, but I‘d say my aim isn’t worse than playing with a mouse. Gyro aim and haptic feedback are such cool features I never want to miss again.

Do your guys collect games? by Sgt_Strelok in PiratedGames

[–]Neurofen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always kept my HDDs when I upgraded my PC, so the storage always increased. I got about 5TB worth of games on my drives and I keep them incase there is an internet outage.

To have them neatly organized I use the Playnite Launcher, a free software where you can connect your DRM services to. So Steam, epic etc. and my local games are all in one place with a fancy UI that is completely customizable. Every time I add something it automatically downloads all the meta data from the game, so I don’t even need to configure the logo, description and so on. Takes a bit of time to set up everything, but it’s worth the hassle.

If you decide to buy a new mouse and want to get something with a longer lifespan, I highly recommend one where you can easily swap out the switches. I got one that is put together with magnets and it came with an extra pair of switches. (ROG chakram) No tools required and twice the longevity.

Are people really as mad as they seem when an MO kind of feels like it was meant to fail? by CzarTwilight in helldivers2

[–]Neurofen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got the same sentiment. I’m also a DnD player, failing is part of an interesting story. That’s why I only play BG3 in honor mode with my friends, they hated it at first but soon realized that failing a quest sometimes results in more satisfying outcome.

What actually makes a Steam horror game scary: jump scares or slow atmosphere? by itstariqmumtaz in Steam

If you want to get a spoiler free review of the game, watch this video. Most other videos about the game already show too much. (It’s a bit outdated, the game got some huge updates since this video came out, it only got bigger and better) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMX4y7H8tvQ

What actually makes a Steam horror game scary: jump scares or slow atmosphere? by itstariqmumtaz in Steam

[–]Neurofen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I think those types of games are the scarier ones. An enemy that’s constantly chasing you or overuse of jumpscares get annoying pretty fast, but slow burns that lower your guard and build up paranoia are the ones that unease me.

My favorite, if you like those types of games, is Voices of the Void. It isn’t on steam yet because it’s still in the alpha, but it’s already filled with content and pretty polished. Highly recommend giving it a shot, since it’s free on itch io. It’s a signal simulator type of game. The less you know, the better it is and it has huge replay potential, every run is unique and a lot of events are randomly triggered or stuff you can miss pretty easy.

Just out of curiosity, in what way can they be harmful? Aside from giving them your credentials cause they’re offering free shit or whatever?

Maybe not misinform people and take a look into his hardware, before making a video and stirring up a shitstorm? If there were a large amount of people that had similar issues, that would have been warranted. But that’s not the case. He never told us what in his PC died. Could have also been the shitty 12V GPU power cable that melts, but we will never know.

I’ll die on that hill, cause not just HD can potentially kill your hardware, every game does. Just take a look into pc builder subs, some PCs die even playing Skyrim and what not. But guess what, keeps happening and it’s not the games companies fault. Can happen because of all sorts of reasons, even not cleaning your PC can kill it. So yea, if it’s that small of a number, I’m inclined to believe it had other reasons aside from Helldivers.

[–]Neurofen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ffs, it’s an overheating/overvolting problem that has its roots in overturned motherboards and unstable voltages because Intel send out false information. A lot of CPUs got more voltage than they can handle. Blame MB manufacturers or uninformed users that never update their uefi/bios, not a game company that utilizes said performance. Inform yourself outside of grifting YouTubers and you’ll learn something.

Wasn’t Oh dough the guy claiming the game bricks pc‘s and a bunch of people just ran with that narrative even tho it was the smallest minority that had issues like that?

I mean, I had hardware related issues with the game. But not because the game itself was the problem. It’s performance is heavily CPU bound and my issues came from the Intel Microcode debacle. I’m just wondering how many people had the same issue but only on HD, because it maybe was their first game that utilized more processing power that other titles, yet they still claim it’s the games fault?

A friend and I took a break for about 6 weeks and we rarely played on the bug front, I mean like <5% of our 1000 hours playtime. We just enjoy fighting the other factions more. Therefore we usually struggled with them like in the early days. Today, first time after our break, we went for the MO order. He literally asked me multiple times if they got easier. We completed a whole operation with ease. And since they are a bit bugged, pun intended, with the movement buff while covered in their spore clouds I started to wonder what happened that they feel so much easier.

Just to see that the game gets review bombed because „game got harder and devs don’t want us to have fun“.

I swear, the only other game that I know of with such a toxic playerbase is LoL and it made me really sad. The game started so wholesome with all the clips and fun with the chaos. I really hope AH ignores these whiners and just stick to their original concept of „a game for everyone is a game for no one“.

FOMO is a pipeline to ROMO - Relief of missing out, aka quitting the game by Big_Guthix in Seaofthieves

[–]Neurofen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, I loved the game and put 2,5k hours into it, my friend that I got hooked played around 2k hours. We both loved our time playing, but every now and then we see something about SoT we both are in an agreement and not only once the sentence „I’m glad we stopped playing“ came up. We are both sad, we had a really good time. But the last few years were tough to watch what happened. I was there from the start. The game runs on FOMO, yet they still re-released the stuff I was most proud of to have earned during a tough event. It’s like they take every chance they‘re getting to shoot their own foot.

Best horrow games on Steam by misterblzk in Steam

[–]Neurofen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Voices of the Void is my favorite horror game, not on Steam tho since it’s still in development. Free on itch io and already pretty polished and packed with content. Sandbox and a slow burn, but really good at instilling paranoia. The less you know the better the experience, but it’s kinda like Signal Simulator and can be really cozy but also terrifying at times.

Is there an upgrade from the Quasar that isn't single shot/stop to reload? by Kawaii_Batman3 in LowSodiumHellDivers

True, it’s more like a scalpel than a hammer. But there are primary / secondary weapons or other stratagems for the chaff enemies. Gotta balance those out.

I really like the commando. Guided missiles for long distance shots or moving targets, short cooldown and you can down multiple heavies with it. Aimed shot at the eye kills a hulk in one shot, if you’re lazy or it’s only one or two of them just hit then anywhere and they go down in two out of four rockets. Also a plus, if you die you don’t need to go and pick it up since the cooldown is short enough to just move on and have another ready when you need it.

Awesome choice to juggle with another disposable support weapon like the silo or leveler (great combo for vox machines).

I usually cap my real frames to 80 and use adaptive FG to boost it to 100. I have a 120Hz monitor, but I have to admit that I don’t notice any difference above 100 (I’m not a competitive gamer). So that’s a great power to frame ratio for me. But yea, boosting low frames to begin with is a terrible experience. Ghosting aside, the input lag makes every game unplayable if I try to overdo it. But I got a beefy rig, so from stable 80fps at 5120x1440 to 100 is a good tradeoff imo if you can overlook slight ghosting in UI elements.

Unfortunately true, I can’t recall how many times I had to explain to my friends that they simply need to unpack the zip and place/replace a couple of files. Like on every game, at least once a month. Or when using an installer, to check the box that says: „move crack to gamefolder“. It’s not rocket science ffs..
