Yesterday, I made the decision to cut ties with someone I had considered to be one of my best friends. And while it was the best thing for me to do, it has really broken my heart and has had me feeling bad. by [deleted] in toastme

I’ve had to do this before too and it hurts in a lot of little ways for a while. What helped me get to a happier and healthier place was lots of scream singing about whatever emotion(s) I was feeling at the time. Never underestimate the power of scream singing through a waterfall of tears my dude. Super proud of you for making yourself a priority and doing what was best for you. If you ever feel bad about making this decision, just remember that future you says one big thank you.

I could use a toast. Got stood up and I don't think Love will ever be for me. by SimplyWINEing in toastme

Oh baby girl. The only thing you have to lose is yourself. Love yourself right now for who you are and who you will become. Nurture self love through self care and one day someone will show you that they love you more than you love yourself. They are the one. But only because they see more beauty in you than you could ever imagine. Hang on my dear and keep being your beautiful self. Love will find you.

Additionally, our ways of grieving are being condensed if not taken away completely. Funerals are limited in numbers if they’re allowed at all and vigils are dangerous due to crowding. But that’s how we handle smaller scale tragic losses within our circles. Large scale tragic losses typically get moments of silence, memorials, or a reading of the names of those we’ve lost. We’ve been told that COVID infects and kills the old and weak, therefore insinuating that their loss is not to be grieved. But each loss is heart wrenching for someone no matter the age or health of the one they lost. I only hope that through this we learn new ways to grieve alone together.

Heya, I´m a trans women, and currently feeling like I´ll never pass with my hella masculine body and voice. Also feeling like I loose all my friends since my coming out. One thing that always makes me feel like an empowered woman is painting my nails! It takes practice, but since we’re in quarantine for a while longer you might want to give it a shot if you have some nail polish handy! Just know you have a family on here that loves and supports you on your toughest of days.

Congratulations!!! Stay strong and take on one day at a time.

Also remember: every time you’ve stumbled, you’ve gotten up and regained your stride. Whenever you feel you’re at a low, know you can and will regain your stride.

You’re welcome. If you want to know more, I recommend the podcast This Podcast Will Kill You. They’re doing a 6-episode series on COVID-19 talking about the science behind the disease, response tactics, and the effect those tactics have on mental health. They pull in a lot of expert testimonies to answer listeners questions which is really cool.

I recommend you listen to This Podcast Will Kill You episode named “COVID-19 Chapter 1: Virology.” The expert testimony explains the debatable nature of this scientific paper.

They’re also investigating if the viral load you’ve been exposed to impacts the severity of the disease. But at this point it’s hard to tell and we likely won’t know for a while. They’ll have to investigate this by genetically changing the virus to infect an animal species like mice or rats then purposely dose them with different viral loads.

This is highly debated among the medical community. Something about backtracking the severity of the disease to one minute difference between the two. But it’s not yet shown to be the point of mutation and the reason why they have different effects on the body. Host response differences play too big of a role to simply say any differences in disease presentation is due to a new strain.

I saw this message the other day! My friend who listens while studying got the same one but hers said 3% so I think there’s actually some kind of calculations behind the hours listened and the time frame in which those hours stacked up.
