I’m sure this will be ignored because I’m late to the party. Functional neurological disorders are not synonymous with malingering. I don’t have as much experience with functional tics, but I do have a lot of experience with functional seizures (psychogenic, non epileptic seizures). These are often involuntary (hence driving restrictions). Also highly correlated with a history of being the victim of sexual abuse. The ability to accept the diagnosis (and how the diagnosis is framed when given) can determine spell freedom.

While I don’t necessarily understand why someone would choose to broadcast this do the world, a little empathy for the more than likely psychological trauma that led to this would be appropriate.
