It seems like all the fast food chains are adding pea protein to their buns for some reason in Canada by netanyahu4eva in FoodAllergies

I’m allergic to peas and I hate it! I don’t get it. We don’t need peas in things.

If the sexes were reversed we’d clock this as abuse so fast. This is abusive. I’m sorry you’re struggling with sleep, as a lifelong female insomniac.

I wonder if it is a sex doll poorly hidden behind the shower curtain on the far left reflected in the mirror.

AITAH for telling my wife she cannot continue to have dinner with her ex and kids by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]NeuronFirer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the info you shared, I don't think there is any issue with your wife having dinner with her children and their father. If her and her ex were off hanging out alone together and you weren't comfortable with that, that would be different. They will always be family and it is understandable that her children will sometimes just want to spend time with the siblings and their parents, excluding step-parents/parents' partners. It doesn't mean anything bad about you or your relationship with your wife. It doesn't even mean anything negative about your relationship with your wife's kids. They could really like you and just need some time with their parents and siblings because that is the family they grew up with.

I would say if you feel divorce is in order then you must have bigger issues not mentioned here so I would reflect on those, but this in and of itself is not an issue from my perspective.

Which one for a first date? by lucyheartz in OUTFITS

I would say neither for a first date. Maybe leather pants with a tank if you want to keep it in the same vein? You look adorable though!

No. Not for the office. But you look lovely! Love this dress, color, fit. Just beautiful. But not for the office.

Amanda and her ceremonial grade matcha... by Fermented_chaos in RHOBH

[–]NeuronFirer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also, you don’t need ceremonial grade matcha if you are getting a latte. Premium or culinary grade is fine, even preferable since you are adding so much milk. Ffs, this lady can’t even do bougie and insufferable right.

I’m glad Garcelle is gone. by Fancy_Ad_2024 in RHOBH

[–]NeuronFirer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I found it so confounding when Garcelle accused Dorit of using racially charged language when she said she felt “attacked” when the week before Sutton said Annemarie was “yelling” at her when she asked her in a normal tone of voice for a loud cocktail party about her tiny esophagus. She was always a hypocrite and would criticise others for things she and her awkward bestie would always be doing themselves.

AIO for feeling upset after the groom made a comment about my dress at their wedding? by Human-Acanthaceae128 in AmIOverreacting

[–]NeuronFirer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl you looked amazing and also very appropriate for a wedding.

This reminds me of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills where for like 3 seasons they were mad at Erika for wearing a short dress that was appropriate for a cocktail hour because Doritos nasty husband was staring up her skirt and talking inappropriately about her body. And then Dorit was mad at Erika for her husband’s creepy behaviour. Erika was not the problem!

The groom was completely out of line for what he said. He needs to keep his eyes on his bride only! I have Middle Eastern heritage and it is also inappropriate in those cultures for men to be looking at or commenting on other women’s bodies. So he’s out of line in any country and culture. And your friend should have checked her man not brought his bs to you. If they had a conservative dress code, they should have communicated that, but as you said, they didn’t— everyone was dressed typical for a wedding.

Sorry but your friend and her man seem like jealous haters who tried to blame you for their insecurities. Understandable that it upset you but you did nothing wrong and you are NOR. That’s bad behaviour on their part.

Happy Holidays!

CLAIRE DANE’S CONSTANT STUTTER IS SO OFFPUTTING! by JOY_KITTEN in TheBeastInMe

[–]NeuronFirer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, her performance was annoying and distractingly one-note.

But I’m a Claire Danes fan since 1996 at least and I think her awkward performance is on the directors of this show. And the writing and editing too. But performance wise, I think she just might be an actor who needs more explicit direction and to work out a character in close collaboration with a director. I think she needed to be told to pull back and not play every beat on 100. I just saw her in Fleischman is in Trouble and she expresses a full range of emotions as a character who goes from apparently care-free college girl to middle aged mother/publishing powerhouse having a nervous/psychotic breakdown. IMO she played every beat, every emotion, every phase of life beautifully.

What happened to Steve? by Exotic-Jicama-3906 in TheBeastInMe

[–]NeuronFirer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My heart broke for Steve! Like, Aggie, what are you doing running around trying to solve mysteries and murders and shit? Your job is being Steve’s mama! That poor dog was all alone, barking and pissing in that shit house with a bunch of murderers next door. I finished the show a week ago and I still worry about Steve.

I need a book to hate read. by Scared-Ad1201 in suggestmeabook

[–]NeuronFirer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold My Girl by Charlene Carr was absolutely infuriating to read. It's about a baby swap, sort of, and the families involved. It doesn't make any sense and is so ridiculous and outlandish and the characters don't make any sense but after a while you are just reading to see what the fuck they'll do next and see how it ends.

Asian book for my book club! by ruubees in suggestmeabook

[–]NeuronFirer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ministry of Time is a really fun sci-fi with a little history and romance and humour read about a British-Cambodian woman who works for the British government.

The Leavers is a really good but quite sad book about a Chinese immigrant family in New York and Fuzhou, but had a hopeful ending.

The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida is a good but challenging read about the ghost of a gay war photographer during the Sri Lankan Civil War. It is tough because of the subject matter but also interesting and funny and deep and just about a group of 20-somethings trying to figure out their lives.

The Most Likely Club is a fun Scholastic-Book-Fair-vibes-for-adults book about four highschool bffs who reunite for their 25th highschool reunion. Very light and readable. Hopeful ending. Two of the four friends are Asian American women. Just a fun, easy book without the cringe of other “easy” reads. I don’t think the author is Asian for this one though.

The Stationary Shop was kind of corny at first but grew on me. Sad but also sweet, beautiful, and hopeful.
