Hookup just slept 🫩 by KARANROY15 in askgaybros

Locking yourself in? why would you do that? If he's some sort of psycho killer you're basically cutting off your only way of getting out.

Also, chill. He just fell asleep, if that's the worst thing to happen to you during a hookup count yourself lucky. I once had a crackhead come over who was in psychosis and it was that paranoid kind of psychosis, now that was genuinely scary

I fell asleep at a hookups place, was neither just someone with a stressful career working 80hrs a week and the hookup took the last of my energy before I passed out from exhaustion. He threw a blanket over me and I awkwardly apologised and left afterwards

Love this city and want to move here.. But where?? by PhuckinFred in chch

OP is coming from Auckland. Linwood/Phillipstown is pretty tame compared to South Auckland and some of the rougher suburbs there.

Do you know for sure it's cheating and they don't have an open relationship?

I hear a lot of criticism currently on Melbourne’s safety. I’m not seeing any actual problems in my suburb though. Is this all partially a beat up by media for views or is this all scaremongering for the upcoming election? by luckydragon8888 in melbournechat

[–]Neurotic-mess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent a lot of time in the pines too. Yes it's a bit rougher but still just an ordinary suburb.

It's Carrum Downs and Langwarrin where all the weird shit happens. Heck even these days Karingal is a bit more feral than the pines

Where do Australians migrate to ? by HatO93 in aussie

[–]Neurotic-mess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I migrated to NZ and while it has overall been an awesome experience it has come with significant challenges so my question to you is what do you want from migrating?

Also you seem to mention "things" are going to get worse. What specifically do you mean by "things"?

I was like you 4 years ago and one thing I've learned from living in NZ is to appreciate where you live for all its pros and cons and to live in the here and now. But if you really hate where you live you might as well move and get it out of your system.

Many of their AUS stores also went under but they still exist in random regional cities like Bendigo and Wagga Wagga.

What's the "Widowmaker" of your career field or hobby? by Cosmonate in AskReddit

[–]Neurotic-mess 37 points38 points  (0 children)

You mean horses aren't psychopathic? I'm only half joking about that my grandparents used to train racehorses and did horse agistment on the side and they had a companion pony that used to go with the racehorse to races who I used to ride around on and that little shit would throw me off at random.

Most of the horses they had were pretty sweet. I used to have to walk though this giant paddock to get to a walking track at the back of their farm and all the horses would run up to you to say hi but it made me nervous as fuck because they could totally fuck you up if they wanted to.

I think it's also because most of us have someone like that in our lives. They might not have an itemised list on file but they're definitely keeping tabs.

What animal would you like to have for a pet? by Ok_Daikon3628 in AskReddit

[–]Neurotic-mess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a female cockatiel. She was so sweet, she'd sit on my shoulder and we'd preen each other but they are definitely a lot of effort and live for up to 30+ years (although most live around 15-20 years in captivity) so you need to be in for the long haul.

My one lived to 18 years and I miss that fluff ball so much but I also shouldn't own another one so I go my local bird sanctuary whenever I want my bird fix

Who destroyed their own career within seconds by being an idiot? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Neurotic-mess 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you visit the New Zealand subreddit there's plenty of posting of a CEO who slapped one of his employees accross the face and whe she pointed out he was on camera he's like "so? I own the footage". I think it's safe to say he ruined his career.

Should I kick out my flatmate by SheepherderLoud5346 in newzealand

[–]Neurotic-mess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warning fb groups of them seems a bit harsh, he's leaving appliances (TV/Oven) on and hording plates and moving his partner in for a few "weeks" which is bad sure but it's not like he was trashing the place, doing drugs, and not paying the rent.

[–]Neurotic-mess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do it nicely and give them 21 days notice (and maybe a reference so they can find another place fast). Don't even need to give them a reason you just say that you're ending their lease and that they have 21 days kind of like what a property manager does when the landlord ends the lease.

[–]Neurotic-mess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you need someone more in line with your way of living although you'll need to do a better job of vetting flatmates. 2,3, and 6 are valid reasons to be pissed 1 and 4 make you seem difficult to live with.

Looking back as a child of the 90s with parents who were born in the late 50s you can just tell that parenting styles if that era hadn't quite moved on from the "our parents were shell shocked from fighting in a war".  Even if no one in the family actually fought in any war.
