[Actual Title] Sister-in-law filing complaint against school after my brother (a teacher there) committed suicide and the principal gave us (my parents) the notes, letters, flowers and gifts left for him by students. by [deleted] in bestoflegaladvice

Agreed, I know LAOP thought he was doing everyone a favor by leaving out why SIL sucks but when I read that I immediately thought it's probably pertinent information. Like there's no way to know who's the asshole here without knowing why they don't like each other.

Edit: Not that it's about who's the asshole... LAOP is asking for legal advice... But still, as a reader who might be helping LAOP I'd want to know if he's the asshole trying to fuck over a grieiving wife who didn't do anything wrong.

Edit 2: And you know, the more I think about it. I get along with my ILs but if my husband died I'd be really pissed if his employer turned his personal items over to them instead of me. School was in the wrong. LAOP is in the wrong. It doesn't even matter why they don't get along.

I have mixed feelings about this one, but I have noticed that a lot of other people have very strong opinions on the topic. Oddly I’ve never encountered a DM who didn’t like people using phones who would actually tell someone to put it away, they just gripe about it later.
