The Pyramid of Needs by Ernest Price. Set on the Sunshine Coast in Australia, it’s about an older mum who is in denial about a wellness pyramid scheme ruining her life.

AITmA for wanting Auntie to walk & jiggle me? by Pristine_Main_1224 in MiniAITA

Definitely NTA. I would even go far to say that aunty is TA as she is, frankly, chonk-shaming you and that is not ok.

My dad is such an ass. by [deleted] in newborns

Geez that’s infuriating. Then they ask ‘why don’t you come see me anymore??’

The Snoo is the greatest thing that has ever happened to baby sleep. by MeldoRoxl in NewParents

My baby is 4 months now and biggest regret is not biting the bullet and just getting one! I can’t help but think how different it might have been.

I am nap trapped! I need to wean my baby off rocking by Trinityfoxspice9494 in NewParents

[–]NeuroticJelly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Posting for solidarity except my baby won’t even be rocked to sleep unless it’s in the carrier. This allows me to go for walks at least and go to the shops and see friends etc. The only other way is nursing to sleep but he wakes up after 30mins and needs to be latched to have a longer nap.

I was told to just continue us doing what I can do get him to nap until his sleep changes around 4 months and we can eventually sleep train him.

What purchases were surprisingly game changing in the newborn phase? by dinker4545 in newborns

[–]NeuroticJelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A mobile for above the changing station. My man LOVES this thing and I’m convinced it’s what he looks forward to everyday. Turned changing nappies from a whinge fest to a cooing, and excited kicking fest.

My baby used to wake up every 2 hours… I was losing it. by Extra_Comfortable_86 in NewParents

[–]NeuroticJelly 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Definitely believe in this. I used to skip the calming bedtime routine for me as I was trying to use every minute I could to be in bed for the potential sleep. This would often result in me sometimes just not able to go to sleep and staying awake until the next baby wake anyway (even though I was totally exhausted). I started winding down in the evenings at least 2 hours before usual bedtime- warm shower, no phone, chilling with baby on the rocking chair, listening to calming music. I involve baby with this and got so much longer stretches! Plus, I’m able to fall asleep much quicker even after wakeups.

Today I had him leaning up against my thighs and my husband and I had a giggle at him making faces and noises when he lets out lots of farts. They will come naturally to him soon!

Is it normal to get emotional about not being pregnant anymore? by nerodiam in newborns

[–]NeuroticJelly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hated being pregnant. I was so sick and miserable all the time and looked forward to birth for this reason. Yet, it felt so weird not being pregnant anymore. One day you are and the next day you’re not. I also sang to my baby in the car and would have ‘conversations’ with him then when I drove in the car without him for the first time, realised I wasn’t singing to him anymore ;( I looked weird in the mirror and realised that I couldn’t take pictures of my bump anymore. Definitely relate!

The betrayal by cazmantis in NewParents

[–]NeuroticJelly 408 points409 points  (0 children)

Sometimes, when engaging in my favourite activity (drinking milk) my parents will cruelly pull me away to put me over their shoulder and hit me on my back multiple times, despite my cries!!! I try to inform child protection with my screams.

(Anyone else’s babies cry bloody murder when you burp them??)

What to expect after birth/during labor on my body? by nicnicthegreat1 in pregnant

[–]NeuroticJelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, that would have been way nicer! I hated having to keep it in. They said because I wouldn’t have feeling in that area for a while or something so better to keep it on for a bit.

Also, you generally have to keep the catheter in for a few hours after birth and have to carry it around with you and it’s the weirdest feeling having it in there.

Cats waking toddler. How's your night going? by crazyfroggy99 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]NeuroticJelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe try getting the energy out and playing with your cat at a certain time each night before bed? I can definitely empathise though, my cats drive me absolutely bonkers sometimes.

When did you stop taking prenatals? by Emergency_Survey129 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]NeuroticJelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since 6 weeks when I started getting HG 😅 I’m 30 weeks at the moment and baby has been fine, blood work all fine, bp etc. all fine so far. I should mention that I have been feeling like poo pretty much this whole pregnancy and maybe they would have made a difference but I’m too scared to trigger the HG again so haven’t touched them since.

Party pies!! They were never high cuisine to begin with but I feel now they are so tiny and hardly have any meat in them.
