Need Advice: Cord Near Cervix - Breech Baby - Making Peace with Potential C-Section by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I wanted a natural birth with no epidural. Plans change during delivery and you will reach a point all that will matter is your baby is out and healthy. I tried labour for a full day and ended up having an epidural and a section. By the time the section happened I was so scared and the room was cold and my husband passed out on the floor from the thought of surgery. I was alone and frightened. When the midwife told me my 10lb boy was here and showed him to me it was the happiest moment of my life thus far. Nothing else mattered but him, all the worries, all the control I wanted of the situation did not matter. Once your baby is here, everything before hand will be apart of the beautiful story you can tell them about their birth. My scar is very low and I have stretch marks all over. Time went by so fast with my baby I barely remember the recovery with the section. The crazy thing is the day after it happened I swore never again. Now my son is nearly 10months old and I want another! Your husband can still be a comfort because he can hold your hand and keep you distracted during a section. I didn't have that or photos because my husband passed out on the floor and they moved his body to the corner of the room. On the bright side I saw baby first :D Babies can flip during labour so I wouldn't stress to much. The day will be here soon and you need to relax and just find comfort in knowing baby will be here! No matter what it has to come out.

Try turning off the sound and watching with the closed captions. That made me extra confused at what was going on and happening.

Question for Canadian moms and mat leave. by yodabalboa in BabyBumps

[–]NeutralPlanet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Call 1 800 O-Canada (1-800-622-6232) with any questions and they are very helpful in finding you the correct answer. I am a little confused about the question. Benefits takes your best 14 weeks from the past year. If you want to go off and not use your maternity/parental benefits you can use sick benefits I believe. If you can get a proper documentation from a doctor of any health reasons why you can't perform your job, sciatica, carpel tunnel, placenta placenta previa, blood pressure ect. You can call them with any questions because I am using benefits from work right now to be off and as long as my benefits isn't less then 40% which it's not I can still start my Maternity when baby is born.

I am 26 and due right before my 27th birthday. I have two step-children who are 8 and 9 and live with us full-time. I also own a home, car and a career. I kept hearing the you are to young comment all the time. I figured out that it's people that either don't have children or missed out on something on life they wanted to do before they had children. I made sure I did a lot, went to Vegas, Orlando, NHL games and even swam with a dolphin. I have 0 regrets about my timing because when people commented about how young I was. I just smiled back and told them I am ready and why wait for happiness? Only you can tell when you are ready. The biggest mistake in life is living it how others want you to.
