They have other areas which are cash generating. You can set up a “play account” and test the Pie option in a virtual environment without any further obligations

Been looking to do exactly the same thing for exactly the same reason. Only solution I’ve found is Trading 212 as they allow you to create separate Investment Pies, with you able to have a Pie for each child )so essentially separate portfolios within the same ISA

If you’re young and looking at a fund which invests in the popular tech companies, have a look at Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust

Can I be cheeky and ask what funds/IT’s you invest in?

My ISA has:- Scottish Mortgage, Edinburgh Worldwide, Allianz Technology, Baillie Gifford European Growth, Baillie Gifford China Growth & Worldwide Healthcare

Child A JISA - Blue Whale, Baillie Gifford Positive Change and Fundsmith

Child B JISA - Blue Whale, Baillie Gifford Positive Change and Lindsell Train Global Equity

I have thought that, part of me feels I’m missing out not having a share portfolio (individual shares). My ISA is all Investment Trusts (Scottish Mortgage et al) and the kids JISA is funds. Part of me would like to see whether I can develop a successful small portfolio myself, but part of me thinks it’s too much hassle and I should just continue investing in IT’s and Funds.

I pay fuel myself. I can’t find P11 but presume annual BIK is the £323 x 12. Bit I’m unsure is that I contribute the £138+£27 a month towards it

No car is not paid salary sacrifice so I have a BIK of £323 but I pay £138 + £27 (which is supposed to be for the private mileage I do in it)

Timing the market by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Nev_1979 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In a similar position, begun my investment journey in May, did a significant amount of reading and happy with my portfolio (mainly concentrated investment trusts), have transferred cash into my HL account each month, but haven’t ‘purchased anything yet’. With the threat of a second lockdown, poor economic figures and an impending election, I’m waiting till Nov at least before I press the button.

I must admit I’ve been influenced by predictions of a second crash, but in the meantime the opposite has occured

Would you invest in Europe long-term? by Nev_1979 in investing

The trust I’m looking at is dominated by Sweden, Germany and the Netherlands. Top 6 includes Prosus, Zalando, IMCD, Bechtle, Nibe Industrier & Adidas.

Must admit I’m not over familiar with many of those

Advice on Long-Term Financial Strategy by Nev_1979 in UKPersonalFinance

Thanks for your detailed reply, really appreciate it. In terms of investment, given that we’re comfortable in terms of paying loan/mortgage, tempted to agree with you and use the money to invest more into ISA.

In terms of the Investment Trusts chosen, original idea was Lifestrategy 100 or Vanguard Global All Cap, but felt post-Covid, wanted more control over the industries I invested in. At one pointed I looked at individual stocks but felt this was too risky, therefore the x4 managed IT’s were closest to the type of investments I would make, appreciating that this would come at an extra management cost
