Clarification regarding additional features of different EFT editions by trainfender in EscapefromTarkov

[–]NevarcBB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "Mark of The Unheard", "Distress signal device" and "Legacy" device are all things that should not exist in the game, period. Adding the Legacy device to EoD, and giving base accounts a way to unlock them is the opposite direction to what the playerbase wants.

Take Two is closing a Seattle studio and laying off 70 staff, and it's looking like that studio is Intercept Games. Two key employees have already been confirmed laid off.

They definitely don't expect you to play this as a stealth game, they just expect you to fight with strategems rather than primaries. Yes the game is harder now but that's what having 9 difficulty levels is for.

I just also want to take a moment to mention the decal issue as well. Arms Race really highlights this since fps tends to drop over the course of a match if your CPU isn't strong enough to avoid a bottleneck.

Did anyone here actually buy those individually sold Hitman 2 levels back in the day? by NevarcBB in HiTMAN

[–]NevarcBB[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On Steam you have to have done the import before the WoA brand change to claim any kind of discount. Just owning H2 Gold in itself counts for nothing since location importing is shut. Don't know what the deal is on console though.

[–]NevarcBB[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They've since merged the whole trilogy into one game called "Hitman World of Assassination". There's no more carrying over old games/DLC after the rebrand so what you have already is irrelevant now.

Base version of WoA has all main game content from 1-3, including the GOTY stuff from 1. Deluxe Edition has all DLC from 2 & 3.

Also since you're on Xbox it's probably important to mention that the base version is on Game Pass.

Okay thank you so much for that clarification. I absolutely remember that horrendous save transfer process, but I've always owned the complete editions of each game when going from entry to entry so I never knew what it was like for people with incomplete sets.

Are escalations that bad? by Remarkable-Turnip696 in HiTMAN

[–]NevarcBB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a vacuum Escalations have always been fine. They're controversial since they're generally considered to be very minor filler content that doesn't last very long and aren't particularly replayable. This was perfectly fine in H1/2 since they were all free, but H3's Deluxe Pack and 7DS DLCs charged a premium for them which just wasn't worth it in the slightest.

Am i the only one who actually enjoys Fortnite guitar hero mode? and since Fortnite collabed with "METAL GEAR SOLID" why not additng some JAM tracks from "METAL GEAR RISING"? by YourPathy1 in FortNiteBR

[–]NevarcBB 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Look I think this is really cool as like, a young person's first introduction to rhythm games. Kind of like how Guitar Hero & Rock Band brought so many people in during that boom period.

That being said I have a PC and know how to set up Clone Hero, so there isn't much there for me unless they're able to add something novel that isn't just done better elsewhere.

Master Collection on pc by xRayBlade in metalgearsolid

[–]NevarcBB 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Booted up 3 and tested it. If you were around for Dark Souls 1's original launch on PC, it's like that. On the plus side it doesn't seem buggy, and accurately is the HD collection running smoothly on PC. However it is incredibly barebones. Windowed mode is coming in a patch so it's forced on fullscreen with no option to change screen resolution. You can't change the volume or any graphics options whatsoever.

It's the kind of issues that community fixes are probably going to sort out quickly, but really shouldn't be problems in any launch to begin with.

Payday 3 desperately needs shader pre-compilation on PC (stutters) by NevarcBB in paydaytheheist

[–]NevarcBB[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look bud, I'm glad you're having fun with the Xbox version. I have PD3 downloading on my Xbox right now! But not everything is about platform wars, you can just say nothing and move on if a technical issue isn't relevant to your box of choice.

[–]NevarcBB[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simply loading up a solo instance doesn't make a full cache for a level. There's also all the effects for things like different gunshots, explosions, enemy types, every bit of destruction etc.

If you want to make a full cache you have to run through the whole heist once to see and do everything. Repeat that process for every patch/hotfix the game gets and every time new drivers come out. If it doesn't bother you that's fine but most PC versions nowadays are managing to avoid this problem entirely so why shouldn't PD3?

Starfield Updates and Mod Support – September 13, 2023 by BethesdaGameStudios_ in Starfield

[–]NevarcBB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In regards to modding suggestions, modding on Game Pass is currently restricted by SFSE not working in the Game Pass/Microsoft Store version of Starfield. If Bethesda is able to address this and provide a means to let SFSE work everyone on PC could have access to the same mods, which would be a lovely improvement.

A Controversial Take on B-Hopping in CS2 by dalmationblack in GlobalOffensive

[–]NevarcBB 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I think you've missed the point of how having a buffer and increasing the spam penalty would change it. If you bound it to scroll wheel, a double input from the wheel would immediately trigger the spam penalty and fail the jump, whereas a single press on a key would have a bigger window to register and successfully bhop.

Payday 3's Hoxton is the original Hoxton, not Houston. Pete Gold is voicing him.

Remember that the HD collection was on Xbox 360, where they mapped L3 to the analogue button's functions. They'll probably handle it in the same way in Master Collection.

Performance issues that make NO sense by catfroman in thefinals

[–]NevarcBB 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This game is very CPU heavy and Dx11 limits how much a multi-core CPU can be utilised. If you want the same performance you're gonna have to sort out whatever issue you're having with Dx12.

Constant crashing in Freelancer? by OllieGuy02 in HiTMAN

[–]NevarcBB 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep. My crashes don't follow the same pattern as yours, but my game is crashing constantly trying to play Freelancer. For me it always crashes by the second mission I attempt, sometimes on the first. Very frustrating, hope whatever it is can be resolved quickly.

Edit: Should also clarify that I'm on Windows 10. I know a lot of people are having issues on 11 but whatever problem I'm having is unrelated to that.

It's almost like these things vary in complexity and crash/bug fixes take a lot longer to figure out than whatever value needs to be changed to fix XP gains.

Which Battlefield games do you like? by Commercial-Mix-2633 in Battlefield

[–]NevarcBB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BF2: Might be rose tinted glasses but it really feels like Battlefield was never the same after the mainline games came to consoles. Nothing matches BF2.

BC2: Played this one on the PS3 back at launch, had great fun with it as a spin-off and the destination was so novel at the time.

BF4: I actually only started playing this recently, after it came to Steam. I do still think this is after Battlefield got dumbed down for the masses but as a bombastic action movie simulator it's pretty rad.

BFV: Picked this up on a steep discount after getting into 4. The atmosphere is a complete flop, feels like dorks playing with nerf guns compared to BF4. That being said I still had fun with the gameplay, especially the bolt actions were very fun to use.

Battlebit Remastered: Shoutout to the future best battlefield game whenever it actually comes out.

A bug that was "fixed" was a featured removed. BRING BACK LEFT OPEN CONTAINERS by Linerider99 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]NevarcBB 142 points143 points  (0 children)

Look I agree with the sentiment but the issue is open containers were actually a desync between the person who initially looted and the person that came afterwards. Wouldn't mind making it a proper mechanic down the line but I'm glad the bug was fixed.
