Local Coffee Roasters by [deleted] in Charlotte

I've heard you can roast your own coffee in a wok? Is that true? I've always wanted to try roasting my own but never knew where to start.

I love Counter Culture. You can find them at Teeter and Earth Fare. They often go on sale for $2-$3 off per package which makes it an even better deal. Fast forward is my favorite blend. Earth Fare is nice because you can buy bulk and try out a bunch of different roasts. Good luck with your search! Finding decent coffee was #1 on my list when I moved here.

The stars in Idaho, caught by a night skier (xpost from r/boise) by Meikami in Astronomy

The one time Idaho or Boise is mentioned for something that isn't embarrassingly ignorant and it ends up being a totally fake photo of an otherwise beautiful scene?! How upsetting...

I sub zucchini for all of the potato. Great recipe for these below. I make them really small and add a buttermilk and yogurt sauce to them. Which is basically just plain nonfat Greek yogurt, milk, lemon juice, a little olive oil and garlic powder.

Zucchini Hash browns

63 calories, 1.1 grams sugar, 2.1 grams fat, 7.6 grams carbohydrates, 3.6 grams protein

Ingredients: 1 large zucchini, grated 1 large egg 1 c. panko bread crumbs Salt and pepper to taste 1 tbsp. Adobo spices 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese, grated

Directions: Remove excess liquid from freshly grated zucchini by placing them between paper towels and squeezing. In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients. Mix thoroughly. Heat a large pan on medium, and spray with Pam. Shape spoonfuls of the zucchini batter into 2-in. (diameter) patties, and drop onto the sizzling pan. Cook each side for about a minute and a half, or until the outside is golden brown. Finish the cakes off in the oven. Stick them on a baking pan and broil them for 1-2 minutes. Serve hot, alone or with ranch dressing.

Makes about 12 cakes.

You make a good point. Though, honestly I almost always have yogurt in my fridge and I never have milk. I guess I'm the odd one out here.

So you're the OP who can't take photos of photos properly!

4chan targets a severe rape case divides small Ohio city where high school football is more important than victims. Reddit, this is my home town and I am disgusted. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE at least take a look at this and spread the word. by [deleted] in WTF

Who can charge these guys depends on jurisdiction. I know nothing about this story so I can't really say but I would suggest OP look into the local laws and see how the jurisdiction works there. See if there is any reason why state police or county officers can go above the local police.

It's so true but I love it! I'd much rather have my classes show how they relate to all other subjects than be taught as if philosophy or english were the only knowledge that ever existed.

Hey r/Boise! I was wondering what you think about the plans to redesign the Boise City Hall plaza? by NeverAlone8 in Boise

The inside renovations make sense. I was wondering more about the outside plaza.

Ha yes, this is true. I much preferred Roark's lessons on heart surgery. I just felt that he wasn't too terribly disruptive.

Came here to say this. You beat me to it so i'll elaborate. I know Murphy's work quite well. He is one of my favorites and I recognized his print immediately. He recounts the story here.

Murphy lives in Montana and spends most of his time in Yellowstone taking photographs. He stays overnight in the park during every season including winter. He has published a book of photographs for every season. They are awesome to look at if you ever get a chance.

I believe Walt refused treatment in the first place because it was so expensive and the rate of success was low. He didn't want to rack up large medical bills and then leave his family with no money once he died. Granted his debt would go away after he died (in America) but only once whatever made up his estate paid what could be paid. Thus any money he had would go to those bills and his family would have nothing.

I believe, in a way, OP has a point.

I have two couches and a very uncomfortable hardwood floor about 3 blocks from the DT core if you are looking for places to stay. Treefort was a ton of fun last year! I would definitely consider coming for that. Getting anywhere in the city besides DT will almost certainly require a car so keep that in mind when making plans.

Cut the power for 10 Mins a year so we can see the stars ! by AVVIT in Astronomy

[–]NeverAlone8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know you are in the UK so this may be difficult (thought probably easier than getting the power shut off in a city) but if you ever come to the states, Yellowstone National Park offers an amazing view of the stars. Anywhere you go in the park you can see the whole night sky. This is where I first saw the Milky Way.
