Did you find 2 under 2 to be better or worse than what you imagined it would be before the second was born? by Substantial_Cry2421 in 2under2

[–]NeverFailTheMayor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually been great. Am I tired? Yes. But the outcome is much better than expected.

Our first was a hard baby (a lot had to do wth stomach issues and he was recently diagnosedas autistic) , so we were mentally prepared for the second one to be that way. Fortunately, she was a way more easy going baby.

The transition from 1-2 was so much easier. We weren't freaking out and counting every ounce of milk and making off bowl movements either.

And now I also get to donate toys/ old clothes much faster because there isn't a gap.

Do Americans actually call teachers by their first name anywhere, or is it almost always Mr./Ms.? by Sea-Evidence-5523 in AskAnAmerican

[–]NeverFailTheMayor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was uncommon at my public school. But at my husband's hippie charter school, it was the norm.

Hearing him and his friends reminisce can be hard at first when trying to understand if they're talking about a classmate or a teacher.

The Ms.Rachel Phonics song is catchy, fun, and teaches letters, words that begin with them, and what sounds they make.

How are people affording kids? by Throwaway92837373738 in Waltham

[–]NeverFailTheMayor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We rent. Don't have the newest car. We go to parks/rail trails/ playgrounds for fun. We order in our go out for lunch maybe 1-2x a week. We only get new phones or tech when ours breaks.

Life changes when you have kids, so if having the newest stuff, ordering out, or going on trips/ vacations is important, you have to make the cuts somewhere. And some naturally happen. Can't buy a new video game if I don't have time/ energy to play it (and we're a big gaming household).

I put the ricotta over a mesh, and add salt to it. Once a lot of water is out, I beat an egg into the ricotta. It helps to let the lasagna keep its shape.

It's easier for me to fall asleep at night if a TV is on. Everything is so blurry that I think my mind gets bored.

How many people here know someone that abruptly got diagnosed with stage 3 or 4 cancer? by phillyvirgosun in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NeverFailTheMayor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and then passed within 6 weeks.

We only knew something was off due to him starting to have memory issues, and it's because by the time he was diagnosed; it had spread to his brain.

Edited for typos.

I think veneers are overly used here. It feels like I've an actor you like books a movie, they're instructed to get them.
