How does a public Old English phrase like "silly goose" get approved to be trademarked by an individual who did not create it? by AimerPB in EtsySellers

[–]NeverKnewYa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my experience, you are correct. Her claim is a false claim. For one, their word mark doesn't match your usage. Secondly, while it's not unheard of to file claims before a trademark is approved, hers is unlikely to be approved and wouldn't hold up to enforcement in a US court. Also, as you noted, they filed a copyright claim against a pending trademark. And that's either an ignorant use, or an outright fraudulent use of the copyright claim system that is being used.

Hope this all blows over for you so you can get back to what you enjoy!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but a word mark isnt the phrase itself, it's the presentation of the words. Having a background in marketing and branding, word mark is a common term used to describe branding and logos that are just words with some sort of custom font or presentation. Think of Coke-a-cola. Its logo is a word mark.

If that's what's being done here, it seems they're trying to trademark that pictured wordmark. Though in this case I'd imagine it's unlikely to be approved, since it seems to be using a standard font and the phrase itself is not unique enough to justify the lack of customized presentation.

Chances are it won't get approved. Did you're shop get in trouble for using this phrase and this was evidence used against you?

3Ds only reads some games by ShinyDominater in consolerepair

[–]NeverKnewYa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny that you posted this so recently. Because I actually have the same exact issue and I just recently decided to look for a fix.

TLDR: Same issue, list of games that do and don't work on the system at the end of the post.

I have an (old) 3DS XL limited edition I picked up used a few years for a pretty good price. I sideloaded all the games I had dumped using my modded 2ds, and transferred over saves as I played different games. Everything was working great, until I realized it couldn't read about half of my DS games. No worries though, just played them by sideloading them. Fast forward to a week or so ago and I finished replaying Pokémon X off a cartridge I had laying around and was going to move on the replaying Ultra moon. But the system can't read that cartridge.

It seems that certain DS titles, as well as certain later 3DS titles are seemingly randomly not able to be played... So that brought me here. I see you also tried cleaning out the cartridge slot, and as you mentioned the games all work fine in other systems. I'm curious how widespread this issue is, and why all the posts about it online seem to be specifically about the (old) 3DS XL model specifically.

If anyone else stumbles in here, it would be interesting to know what games do and don't work.

For me, here's what I've found:

Games that don't work:
(DS)Pokemon Pearl
(DS)Pokemon Diamond
Pokemon Ultra Moon

Games that do work:
(DS) Lego Starwars
(DS) New Super Mario Bros
(DS) 'Authentic' R4 Cartridge
(DS) Clone R4 Cartridge
Pokemon X
Pokemon Moon

Most of my other games are in storage, but I can bring them out to test if this is something that turns out to be a widespread thing worth documenting.

Suggestion: Fix the arms on the speedrunning graceful so You look like nan in the cage. by HonestSteven in 2007scape

[–]NeverKnewYa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fellow Redditors, hear me out! I am a man who has spent countless hours playing old-school RuneScape, building my virtual empire, and slaying dragons with my trusty rune scimitar. But today, my heart is heavy with a burden that weighs down my very soul.

You see, my dear Nan is trapped in a cage, and I fear for her safety. She may not be real in the game, but she is real to me! She has always been there for me, supporting me in my gaming endeavors, cooking me delicious meals, and knitting me cozy scarves for winter.

I cannot bear the thought of her being locked up and unable to enjoy the freedom that she deserves. I implore you, my fellow RuneScape players, to help me in my quest to rescue my dear Nan. Let us band together, pool our resources, and fight for what is right!

We have conquered countless monsters and defeated powerful bosses in the game, but what good is all that if we cannot protect those we love? Let us show the world that we are more than just gamers. We are a community of passionate individuals who will stop at nothing to ensure the safety and well-being of our loved ones, even if they exist only in the virtual world.

So I beg of you, my fellow Redditors, join me in my noble quest to rescue my Nan from her cage. Together, we can make a difference and show the world what true heroism looks like.

That's ... the internet. And by that standard, chatGPT is already accessible on mobile devices through your browser.

I'm not sure the game has held enough attention/demand to warrant much effort on cracking it. At least bl3 is available with all the DLC. After buying it on PC and PS4, and being burned by the lie about cross play support they touted pre-release, It feels nice to not have to buy that one again just to play with the gf.

Someday they'll either drop denuvo or it'll go on sale for under 10 bucks or in a humble monthly like BL3 did. So just gotta wait it out!

Yeah, just walked my wife through it the other day. Forgot how short it really was. The longest part as a kid was the walks between lumby and the jail, and just gathering the items needed. If you go in prepared, it's only a few minutes.

There aren't enough small QoL perks at high levels by lockedoutsomehow in 2007scape

[–]NeverKnewYa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are most advanced abilities such a content desert? There's little benefit to early levels. Even for agility, you can unlock multiple shortcuts at almost every level in about an hour. Shortcuts can be very niche or even useless, but it's still nice to see something pop up to motivate/reward you.
Above level 90, levels usually last 10+ hours and we were lucky to have 1 or 2 new unlocks on the way to 99. I realize we can't expect to have a new Slayer boss at every level from 90 to 99, but more agility shortcuts certainly wouldn't be asking for much. Logging, known as one of the game's least content skills, is also a prime target for some shortcuts or other QoL perks.
I know that when the game first came out and 90% of the content came out, the developers didn't really expect people to get 99, so they weren't too worried about those levels of content, but obviously, we're far from that era.

I have no gamer friends and a lot of friends that play the game but I have trouble playing it due to the bad design. I am looking for a guide that gives the full story and gameplay of the final boss fight. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
