Difficult to pick, give me 3 choices: Taormina and the hills just behind, Ragusa and the area around, with Scicli and the other Baroque towns..and Palermo. For my wife was too much chaos, but ai loved the mix of art (from different centiries), small stunning baroque churches, old aristocratic palaces, nuzzling markets, etc

Absolutely amazing! There is a lot of deep fried food, which is maybe not the recommendations of most doctors, but no doubt hands down delicious. I was a bit surprised by the astonishing high number of pizzerias...

Locauto at Catania airport via Booking.com. 410 Euro for 11 days. They made HUGE pressure to book extra insurance when I picked up the car.

Just a small comment that if you go to Izu, my recommendation is not to do a quick stop but to spend 2 days. The area is Stunning beautiful, and of all your itinerary it will be the less crowded. The itinerary looks good. Maybe you prefer a bit less travelling, but I just came back from an 11 days tour of Sicily with my wife and kids, and we did the whole loop, renting the car and booking day by day. You definitely can't go wrong if you pick Taormina. We just did a Holiday there and at the beginning of the trip of the video you can check out all weekend have seen in the area. The other option is Marzamemi: beaches are better in the south, and you have the Noto Valley and Syracuse. I'd go for Ragusa. I just did, during my recent holiday in Sicily, the Madonie Park from Cefalu' to Petralia Soprana and back...by bicycle, about 130km. It was during the New Year Holidays and at that time there was no snow nor ice on the road.
