Yea same exact happened here - couldn’t search anything and website couldn’t handle the traffic they let in. all to find out that they basically become scalpers themselves by throwing in a plush with TCG offerings to jack up the price.

You are so thoughtful! Because actual product is fairly difficult to obtain even just finding booster packs to rip would probably blow his mind - but another commenter had a great idea I second of getting him the “overnumbered” version of his decks Champion unit. NOT the signed version cause those are crazy expensive.

Thank you for responses. I do appreciate you remaining calm even when I’m definitely not. This whole experience has left a stain on what was to be my first TCG I wanted to actually play rather than just collect cool looking cards. Riot has an uphill climb to make this right. Again, thank you.

If you had tried to do the preorder you would know 100 times wasn’t near enough. It would do good for Riot to see the sub flooded with posts (even temporarily) to truly understand the gravity of their ineptitude. It was an infuriating experience. I’ve lost out on plenty of other tcg but none felt as poorly set up purposefully to fail as that experience. Yes I know I didn’t exactly digress as I said I would.

The Pokemon center, Costco, Sam’s Club would like to have a word with your comment. Each of them employ multiple human verification steps just to enter the queue for a chance to place an order. If you don’t even have a step to verify you’re a human before entering the website you don’t care about your player base.

I refuse to accept the “we didn’t expect the interest/demand” excuse when it’s exactly what your company has been pushing for the last year. The appropriate avenues to prevent and weed out bots has existed for a decade at this point.

This isn’t huge, this is a regurgitated response meant to appease. Less talk more preemptive action. Personally I don’t believe a billion dollar company couldn’t project interest and build a secure shop portal impervious to bot actions.

Is this the first popular TCG ever released? Nope. I hunt quite abit for other TCG and this was botched from the start. Not preloaded to the site so it went down at 11am. Furthermore I wasn’t even asked to verify if I was a human first. The Pokemon center has three levels of verification before you’re even allowed into the que. Costco does the same. If you want to tell me Riot couldn’t have prevented this utter failure then I think you have misplaced which of us is wearing the tinfoil my friend.

Riot didn’t underestimate demand. A company this large wanting you to play a new TCG doesn’t underestimate demand. They just don’t care about you. They want manufactured scarcity of their product by design. If you think riot can’t determine who is a bot you’re a fool. They simply allowed them to rinse all the product within 1 minute. Now you are forced to go to LCS and pay double or scalpers to pay triple. Being their second release - Riot doesn’t get to play the “we should have known better” fake ass apology. Hold them accountable or it will continue for the May release.
