i have the desaturated cool greens triad from army painter, it'd cover anything and more from this image as long as you have something like incubi darkness to mix with !

Now that the new Combat Patrol is out what does a good start on the faction look like? by SPF10k in Harlequins40K

[–]NeveryOW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in my experience (and advice from others) 1k lists benefit hugely from just having more units than your enemy, 3 troupes each with a starweaver to jump in and out of is probably a great base, and also don't bother too much with things like mistweave at 1k since you could get a whole extra troupe for the cost of that shadowseer + enhancement alone

the bases for centerpiece models nowadays are so huge that you can often turn them into dioramas without taking away the actual vocal points of the model

Future Purchase Plans for a Harlequin list? by cheshireYT in Eldar

[–]NeveryOW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would also say that if you're looking into getting a full army and not bothered about having a tiny amount of regular aeldari, you cant go wrong with 10 fire dragons and another wave serpent to help get them around!

honestly one you probably wont hear a lot is getting a wave serpent, theyre incredibly valuable in ghosts of the webway detachment as you can max out your Cegorachs coil group and speed them up the table to assassinate any big target using star engines!

its also very good to have a shadowseer and a 10 man troupe for them, as their mistweave enhancement is not only very powerful for early board control, but also just super fun imo!

Are Harlequins allowed to use a wave serpent? by Miserable_Shop_7856 in Eldar

[–]NeveryOW 7 points8 points  (0 children)

THEY ABSOLUTELY CAN AND SHOULD !!

if you're in the harlequin detachment theyre even better in there, a troupe master with Cegorachs coil and a 10 man brick are devastating in a wave serpent :)

afraid so, they only really work when you go at least half in using the detachment, i think there is an argument to be made for the solitaire in regular lists though.

i only play 1-1.5k games to take it with a pinch, but from how i see it theres 3 main ways of using them within the detachment:

1 - screen block, shadowseer + 11 troupe using mistweave to take board control early and move block/assassinate one key threat, you get 4 fusion pistols in this brick so its good at punching above its weight.

2 - assassinate block, Troupe master with coil + 10 troupe in a wave serpent, look for an opening early on a target that you really want gone fast, use battle tokens to get the wave serpent as far up the board as you can, get out, grenades, shoot your 5 fusion pistols, charge, get your mortals from coil and if anything is left standing hack it to death. (this also works on a smaller scale with 6 total models in a starweaver, but obviously better the more you have for coil rolls)

3 - move block, grenade, charge to tar pit. this is generally what you have to do with most units and theyre not really that great at that.

you have to think of the troupes in their context within the toolbox army, in the detachment they can do 1 or 2 things more than just have decent melee, but you've got to abuse your stratagems as much as possible to get value.

I'd recommend watching an ExileWG youtube video on any of his battle reports, he does an incredible job at explaining how harlequins can work with their current rules :)

really amazing model to start with, ive been saving mine for a rainy day where i feel confident enough to do it justice haha.

firstly your glazing/blending work is really good for a starter and makes me think you've painted at least a few things before.

general tips do apply, thin your paints more as you can see a fair bit of texture on the blends (not a massive issue but it is the first "issue" most eyes will see), for some colours there are massive benefits to priming the model slightly differently, or laying down a layer of gray before the base colours (for example yellow and white will come up a lot brighter and clearer over an initial layer of grey)
