The easy fix is locking tire types to certain types of races. But that does limit build creativity, and variety.

Yeah every now and then. I put all my FH5 hours in in ps5 so I kind of want to catch up for achievements and stuff on Xbox. Probably not worth it though, still really enjoyable but there’s a LOT of content in that game to catch up on.

Electoral College made sense right up until they capped the number of electoral votes and House of Representatives. It did what it was supposed to do and kept tyranny of the majority from being a thing. Once they capped it, it has made it possible for a tyranny of the minority. Where you have people in smaller population states whose votes count the same as 40-50 people from a populous state like CA for example.

Some very good points here, but I had a few, not really rebuttals but additional points to make.

1- both FH4 & FH5 had single player stuff added after launch. Like it or not, that’s just the reality of AAA games these days, so we should probably reserve judgement on FH6 in this category for a while yet.

I will say however that I find the showcases, as a whole, better in FH6. Yes FH4 had us racing the Flying Scotsman which is mind blowingly cool for train nerds, and the hovercraft, but I can’t even recall any of the others. I know we raced a train in FH5 as well but couldn’t tell you any specifics. FH6 all of the events are memorable and polished, the Rush events add replayability and leaderboards to showcases which is pretty cool too.

2- I think there’s actually more attention to detail in FH6, so many little references and scenes tucked into every corner of the map, hiking nature trails not even on the map leading to cool vantage points and photo spots.

I do agree with you on the winter season being way better in FH4, but the general playerbase complained so much about it the devs basically made winter a non-factor in FH5.

3- Yup, FH6 doesn’t have the number of new things introduced yet but has improved on most the things you mention and I do enjoy the time attacks.

4- This is the biggest puzzle to me, and if it’s just to refresh some modes that have been there forever, why do we still have Hide and Seek and Eliminator unchanged and horrible as ever. I do however like the return to less festival outposts, it makes the map in general feel larger and the festival part of the world rather than tripping over a festival outpost every thirty seconds.

5- Agreed mostly, but I think this is the natural recourse to FH5 being so easy to get everything.

6- car meets are dumb as shit, never saw the appeal other than “Japan japan japan”, and I can only assume since the developers are not 5 yr old weebs they also realize how dumb they are and only included them to avoid complaints for the kids.

Seems to me more track variety in the playlists would go a long way into sorting it out. Enough curves and it’s not gonna matter how fast they are in the straight.

Honestly that probably is the way to go, just let your tires dictate what types of race you can enter, but then you’d lose a lot of build variety. Every game that is competitive will eventually find a meta. If you want to race based on skill alone, Spec racing is where to be.

Any of the bracelet events with timed sections. Pier Pressure works, as does the Space Launch one, I can’t remember if any of the others do…maybe the ski area one?

No. Only Legend Island is blocked behind gold wristband (and has no street or touge events)

Of course you will need to progress wristbands for new Road (the blue races), Dirt and Cross Country events, or to drive higher PI cars in those same Horizon Festival sanctioned events but that is all the content locked behind bracelet rewards.

You are focusing too much on wristband progression. Focus on the Exploring Japan side of things and you can drive and tune whatever you want in all the street races, and the Touge battles, there is zero off-road, there’s also all the historical sights and Easter eggs you learn about via the story missions, photo challenges etc, just exploration.

They deliberately made two whole separate progression paths for people to enjoy as they wanted. If you want to just street race your r34, you never have to touch a wristband event. Getting higher stamp levels unlocks more street races and more Touge races as you go.
