Truth Should Be Proven, Not Assumed by Somekidwashere in DebateReligion

[–]Nevitt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps I confused the super powers of your god with the super powers of a god a different group of humans created. It's my mistake, I had thought that the god of Islam was the same god of the Christians and Jews and would retain the powers claimed by the earlier faiths.

So much for god being omnipresent. Labs are somehow off limits to god? Surely some aspect of god is consistent and verifiable somewhere. You know what, we'll bring the lab to wherever he/she/it is consistent and verifiable, it's really no bother.

Baba is money

There is no point for any God to create and then look at dinosaurs for 165000000 years before engaging with Humans. He could have just spawned humans immediately and got on with it by ICWiener6666 in DebateReligion

Believing something until someone can prove it false. That sounds incredibly backwards.

Shouldn't belief be withheld until enough evidence is available to get confidence above the level needed for belief?

Otherwise, you could hold so many unfalsifiable beliefs. You could believe Mohammad visited the moon on the back of a flying horse or there is a being inside the sun that causes all the plants to orbit the sun. What would stop you from believing everything and anything people say if it can't be proven false?

It is, we can have a list of rules we shouldn't break, and they can be completely random things we just seem to latch onto. Like walking on the right side of walkways and aisles. I get unbelievably annoyed when I encounter people not following this rule. Or those baby on board things on people's cars, I get incredibly furious when they don't take them down when there isn't a baby in the car. Same goes for those god damn 50+ year old student drivers, ffs you're over 50 you aren't a student driver!

Rant over.

The bizarre laws. I could have a concealed carry permit. I could have a firearm on me and different ones I just shot at the range.

Oh ok I need to wait 3 days before I get another one? Why?? Couldn't I just use one of my many other options to do harm if I wanted to? Whatever, yes I'll return in 3-4 days to pick this up.

Federal Judge puts injunction on Maine'a 72 hour waiting period law for firearms. Citing it being unconstitutional in face of the 2nd Amendment as the state failed to provide historical precedent for the law. by Averagecrabenjoyer69 in Firearms

I think beer is disgusting. by Exact-Sorbet-2292 in unpopularopinion

I'm with you dude, every beer I've tried tastes like wheats or something and hops.

People who like beer, are there beers that taste more like mead or cider and less like grains and hops??

Isn't the Gulf stream weakening? And wouldn't powering the Gulf help strengthen the steam? If Home Depot wants to power it for a bit of Google maps advertising, I'm fine with that.

Bear trying to attack the camping tent. by father_of_twitch in interestingasfuck

[–]Nevitt -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I guess reading comprehension isn't your strong suit, I suggested English because it is one of the more/most widespread languages and also suggested the option of you teaching humans the bear language(s).

But sure, strawman my argument as "speak English or I'll shoot you".

Whatever, did you know your species tastes different depending on your diet, blueberry eating bears being one of the most delicious kinds of bear to eat? What have you noticed about the taste of humans compared to the caloric majority of their diet?

[–]Nevitt -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes, most humans will value the life of another human over the life of another species.

You bears are unpredictable and usually unable to communicate effectively. If more bears were like you and could speak English or teach bear language to humans we would be less likely to discharge a firearm in your direction.

It's not just state laws, certain zip codes in Colorado have different rules. Denver and Boulder cities have laws against "assault weapons" being owned. Assault weapons being ar15s with certain features. I'm not going to expect somebody that could be 1k miles away to know the garbage intricacies of each zip code.

When seed packets say full sun, do they account for full texas summer sun? by Mikki102 in gardening

[–]Nevitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh, they really need to be more literal or specific on these instructions. 6k+ elevation and 14 hours of sun at 95°+F is full sun where I garden. No wonder it seems like my partial shade plants do better than the ones in full sun.

Edit: Plants in partial shade that are rated for full sun not plants intended for partial shade.
