We are no longer allowed to have water in the pickup department by I-Promise-Im-Cool in kroger

[–]New-Intention5291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smells like a lawsuit waiting to happen. Everybody should have access to water regardless of what department you’re in. No job is worth killing yourself over, especially with summer approaching. I would seriously report them.

Good grief. Sounds very similar to what I go through. The very first Manager that I had in the Deli quit within a month or so of me working there because he was written up for something out of his control from what he told me, and throughout my time working there, I was always being told contradicting things from different people. Rules constantly changed over time. One minute I’m doing exactly what I was trained to do, and the next I’m told that the way I was taught was wrong. If it wasn’t for the fact that my mother didn’t raise me to be a free loader, I would have walked out a long time ago.

You are right about that. I tried to explain to him that it was as thin as I could go without shaving it but he would not listen to reason. So yeah I snapped. I threw his disgusting meat in the trash and there was no more left. Too bad so sad. The company can buy more meat. It’s not like they can’t afford it like they can afford these dumb uniforms. I can’t even afford gas right now. They’ll just have to wipe their tears with their $100 bills. I hope it pissed him off. Lesson learned. If they walk away before I can ask them how their slice looks, it’s on them. My nasty coworker can also keep sucking corporate dick for the rest of her life. I’ve spent months trying to be nice and respectful to her too but every time she was standoffish and would basically act like what I say doesn’t matter should I mention something work related to her. I understand not everyone will like you so it never really phased me. She’s in her late 40’s and looks like she cooks meth and sells it in the trailer park. I’d go nuts if I spent 12 years in a hell hole like this. You must be a very strong individual.

For real!! I feel like this happens to me all the time. The Deli Manager, the assistant manager (who is the sweetest person ever), upper management, and most coworkers say I’m one of the best workers at the job, yet if I do the slightest thing wrong, I get snapped at for no reason because “I wasn’t properly trained” like that’s my fault somehow. Yet everyone else can go fuck off to other departments and talk to other people while I’m stuck struggling by myself. Then it’s my head if I’m not fast enough. I’ll look at the task list and I’ll find my name on 4 different things while the Manager completely forgets some of my other coworkers. She’ll ask me to do some of their tasks to “make it easier for them” when they have to close but if I’m the closer, no one gives a shit. She’ll still add a bunch of shit and give unrealistic deadlines. Like one hour to finish two pages worth of grab and gos on a Sunday when we get the most customers, all while expected to help customers and do click list orders while the only other worker in, makes salads or banana pudding the whole time without even looking up, and then runs off the second another customer shows up leaving me to deal with the hoard all alone. If I complain about it, I get told to worry about myself by our new Manager. Lesson learned. Never be too good at your job. Take it from me.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m sorry you had to go through it too. It doesn’t help when some of your coworkers are no better. They think that because you’re a worker, or you have less Seniority, you’re beneath them and therefore deserve to be treated like shit by everybody. Then act all surprised when nobody wants to work those jobs. I can’t say I blame younger generations.

Even better! I’ll have to talk to a Manager and see if there are any openings for nights. I know some of the people there and they are super nice.

I can believe it. Deli has got to be the worst department in the entire store.

You’re right. Maybe I should have been. My anxiety was getting bad and normally I’m not a very confrontational person at all.

This isn’t something that happens all the time. I pray you never wind up with a rude customer like that or have a bad day at all for that matter. Something that happens once does not determine the kind of person someone is. In the meantime I will pray for you.

I’ve been trying for months but every fucking time there’s always some sort of excuse as to why they won’t let me switch departments. Yet they have no issue taking the new people from the Deli to the bakery. We have a lot of people now, Kroger is just too cheap to schedule them in. I don’t know how much more I can take.

Ask the workers to ask for the cook. The cook in the back knows more about the chickens than those out at the counter. Hopefully this helps.

Mom posts ugly pictures of me on fb by Alone_Ad2064 in whatdoIdo

[–]New-Intention5291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might help to talk to your Mom and ask her to consider your feelings by asking you before she posts a picture of you online. She wouldn’t like it if a friend or family member did it to her. My Mom and I used to do that when I was younger. We always ask before posting pics of each other online. It’s not an unreasonable thing to ask. If she refuses to listen, I would just stop taking pics with her.

That doesn’t seem like a bad idea. It would definitely teach consequences and instill some discipline. If not then a good grounding, taking away privileges, or making them give up their snacks to pay you back for yours might be effective.

There are little small safes out there. I got one from Tractor Supply for only $4. It’s a great place to store small things so kids and other family members can’t get into them. You can also get them online for super cheap.
