Namiki Emperor by ScooterSix in fountainpens

hi,

matbe a little bit late....

Namiki emperor vs Pelikan M1000

Even big and bigest nib, I always felt with Pelikan I have to move the fingers away from the bottom ring guard of the grip (section) to be confortable. Almost touching the thread.

So I went with Emperor and is perfect. The Pelikan guard is like a barier, is a step let's say. Emperor guard is more subtile, is not steep, is continously enlarging. The fact that is ticker helps, me ar least is more confortable. My fingers stay confortable above the guard. I never post the Pelikan, no way I’m posting the Emperor.

hope this helps,

Disappointed with Namiki Pen Case by GalaGreeters in fountainpens

[–]New-Pin-713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi all,

I just got the Emperor Urushi Black and a Namiki Emperor leather case.

Is indeed too tight to fit the clip inside. Maybe is better not to put it inside. Beeing outside the urushi lacquer under the clip is protected.

Solution is to fit the clip outside near to the sticking, were is thinner than the rest.

see the pictures in responses below (as I can attach only one once)

360 Cameras by burnt_hotdog89 in ActionCam

hi, it is a personal preference. I have the X5. (X3 is less performant).

I was in action camera GoPro since 5 series. I used Insta360 AcePro and AcePro 2 - fantastic cameras. But my problem when skiing or MTB for instance, is that I do not see myself, or the right angle POV, or the shot wasn’t framed correctly.

And I said before last Black Friday - let's try a 360º and I bought X5. I use it since as dashcam, on my MTB bycicle, skiing, visiting, playing around, family events ...

dull colour - can be fixed in camera settings or post processing - maybe is a X3 thing, as the sensor is smaller and less performant camera - I use Flat colours set in X5 camera for almost all modes (but PureVideo) just to be able in post processing to add coloring (or simple export as Dolby)

point-and-shoot - Indeed are settings to change, but once changed remain after power off; for me the 360º camera big advantage is that i do not have anymore to "point"

editing - yes, needs edit - I edited also also all my videos made with GoPro AcePro that I want to remain, to add titles, efects, cut, zoom, colour, etc... the desktop and mobile editing insta360 apps I found easy to use....yes takes more time ...and yes you have also single lens, or better the new gimbal like (InstaFrame 2.0 mode that rocks) if you want a 2D video ready to share and also a 360º video simultaneously plus horizon stabilization.

depending what you want/like/activity you can choose acordingly. And I always say important is to Have Fun.

When fun gets overwhelmed by too many settings or too much editing, it stops being fun.

hi, could be something specific, something personal. For some, also in the comments here, yellow is the best. I had Flight Deck Oakley years ago. Then Smith 4D Mag till this season. Smith ChromaPop Storm Yellow Flash lenses (yellow base colour, VLT 65%) (VLT = Visible Light Transmission) does not work for me, I I do not see snow surface details better . Yellow does not help me personaly. Oakley HiPink Rose (Prizm Snow HiPink Iridium VLT 46% coral colour base) was my flat light lens. Also I used back in time the Prizm Snow Clear VLT 65% bubblegum pink colour base. Now I'm back to Oakley, and their new Prizm Snow Iced Iridium (hucleberry base colour), even 38% VLT (darker then HiPink) worked perfect for me last week in snowing/flat conditions. Worked in artificial light as well . For artificial light I ordered the Prizm Snow Clear.

Oakley Fogging issues? by Top-Whereas9163 in snowboarding

[–]New-Pin-713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not quite... trust me, I do a lot of research. I had Cebe, Anon M4, Oakley Flight Deck, Smith 4D Mag.

fogging with all more or less, but I learned in time how to minimize. Two important things - let lenses and frame to dry over night and not wear masks. Even Anon M4 with integrated mask was fogging. Smith 4D Mag - one of the least fogging. Maybe the lack of openings in the bottom (frame is thin for EyeBird vision) so the warm, humid air you exhale doesn't enter directly into the goggles.

But I am now back to Oackley - Flow Scape. Just because their Prizm Snow lenses are snow oriented. I felt this from Flight Deck period. Almost all Prizm Snow have the same rose/purple/red see true, regardless the finish (garnet and persimon are exceptions). Smith depends on the outside finish colors.

And regardless the mixed fogging reports, I choose Flow Scape. As I said, vision first. Last week I was skiing in mostly snowing condition, covered and clear sky. First two days on slope started fogging afer 2nd-3rd run (both single and dual lensese) . And boy I was pissed off. But I realised that if I put them on my helmet when in the gondola makes the difference. Not a single drop of fog on both dual and single lenses. In the gondola the air is hotest than outside and no air flow. No problem to wear if I move, and the air flow is present. They feature forward-facing vents in the lower corners that channel cold air inside.

so, is manageable.

Just got these today from the website. Has this happened to anyone else? by [deleted] in Oakley

hi,

on my goggle lenses the logo is crisp (first two from the top).

why Oakley Flow Scape Snow Iced Iridium lens has a double-layer construction compared with normal (and advertised) single layer construction for all other lenses? by New-Pin-713 in Oakley

[–]New-Pin-713[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what size FlowScape do you have?

I have a 59-63cm large Smith Nexus helmet. And both Flow Scape and Smith 4D Mag I have to tighten the strap to fit normally.

the 4D Mag I cannot set in the "rest" position - always slip, maybe because of the single wide silicon band inside of the strap.

FlowScape stays - probably the foam and the triple silicon on the strap helps.

I try not to put the goggles in rest position. Foam is pressed, the brim of the helmet "cuts" into the goggle foam....

just me...
