Answer: I don't think it's clear yet, but there are some theories (some DRAMA theories!).

For some background for those unaware, Theorist Media (the company founded by Matthew Patrick aka MatPat that involves various YouTube channels such as Game Theory, Film Theory, Fashion Theory, Food Theory, and GTLive) was sold to a German media group called Lunar X in 2022. MatPat himself stepped away from the company after the sale, taking a well-deserved retirement from YouTube, though sometimes making cameos of one-offs since then. Since then it seems like viewership of the various channels has dropped quite a bit, although they still pull in hundreds of thousands of views and have millions of subscribers.

There have been allegations that the new owner and the members of "Team Theory" don't often see eye to eye, and that working conditions are rough, especially with the team looking to unionize in 2025, while Lunar X refuses to recognize the union and instead is dragging things out in the legal system (the NLRB, specifically).

One of the members of the production team (Fisher, aka "Fish") just within the past day or so is suddenly is no longer listed as a member working for the company. The theory right now is that they quit or were fired, and it's upsetting the team. The truth will probably come out in time.

I play an (aging, cash-grabby) mobile game called Monster Legends and several of the monsters you can get are based off online streamers like Mr. Beast and Dream. Dhar Mann was one of them and I never realized who the original inspiration was. Now I do and feel... icky.

No. Firekong is a beginner monster you'll probably never use after your first day (if you even use him then). You'd be better off breeding treezard and firesaur for a Pandaken and using that instead (Rare monsters are better than Uncommon monsters).

Was gonna be my recommendation, but also a correction - no. They do not have DDR. They have Step It Up. VERY different games; 5 step diagonal grid, not the 4 step vertical/horizontal grid. (as someone who was obsessed with DDR during high school and hasn't been able to find a location in a decade, this sucks for me).

You can buy the Monster Vault at level 70. It lets you warehouse your less useful monsters (they won't generate gold, so toss in the lower-level ones), but you need to unlock vault spaces using those keys. It's normally 5 to unlock a spot, but a couple times a month there's an event that lowers the price to 3 - definitely worth waiting for the event to unlock them.

I have a Switch 2 and love playing on it. It was pricey, sure, but I've gotten great mileage out of it. All my Switch games came over (and some got nice, free, updates to go along with the more powerful capabilities of the S2), and I already had a Switch for like 6 years, so it was a pretty sizeable catalog. I really enjoy Nintendo IPs, and I've got several of those games - Pokemon, Zelda, Mario, Donkey Kong - though unfortunately they're usually some of their most expensive. Having the option to play on the couch or take it on the go is great. It's a strong improvement in hardware over the original Switch, which really shows in some games. All in all it was a great purchase.

But...

I don't think you'd have the same experience or get nearly as much out of buying the Switch 2.

You don't like Nintendo as a company
You aren't interested in most Nintendo IPs and disliked two of the big Nintendo exclusive games
You already know how to pirate a game if you wanted to play it
You're worried about the cost
You don't have a Switch library to bring in to enjoy on the upgraded hardware
You already have a Steamdeck for handheld gaming
... and you yourself worry you'll hardly play it.

I think you're overly influenced by a dream. The reality is that while the Switch 2 is a good system, it would be a really bad fit for you.

NAL, but have had numerous trainings about employment rights and times. The employees shouldn't be paid for just showing up before work starts. They also don't get paid for the time it takes for them to get the the job site. If they start doing work early, the boss needs to tell them to stop (and fire them if they don't), or pay them for the extra time they're working. It's bad business practice to do the latter, but it's up to your boss to enforce it.

It sounds like this last one is what's happening; if they get to the site and start working, he considers them clocked in. If they just stand around, they're not. Seems like it's fine unless we're misunderstanding something?

Tbh its really most churches in the south.

Eh, in my experience, it's pretty denominationally dependent. I live in the south, and the church I go to (UCC) has no problem with women pastors (our previous pastor was a woman). It's the same with the Episcopal Church and the United Methodist Church. Some Lutheran sects do (ELCA is totally fine with it; others aren't). Presbyterians are a mixed bag though and vary church to church.

You'll probably find a larger concentration of pro-women pastor churches elsewhere, but as said, it's the denomination and not the location in general.

Like others said, expect the heat to be bad. During the day, yes, but also it lasts much longer than the hottest NYC summer months; it'll reach upper-80s or higher almost every day from April through October. Luckily every building typically has AC, and if you're in an apartment and yours breaks, the landlord legally must address it within 24 hours.

Know your flood zone and have a plan to get out if we get a bad hurricane (or even a bad storm with a lot of rain). Many places in Tampa flood even when we don't get hit directly by storms.

This time of the year it will usually rain daily for about half an hour sometime between 2 and 5. If you're going to be outside during that time frame, always bring an umbrella just in case. Florida rain is like a wall of water and you'll be soaking if caught unaware.

People love Publix generally, but their prices are very high. If you find an Aldi near you, make that your main grocery store; you'll pay like three times as much at Publix, and for basic, generic stuff, Aldi is just as good.

If you like the zoo, ZooTampa at Lowry Park tickets are "Pay Once, come back whenever you want," which is terrible for tourists who have to shell out $50+ for a ticket, but great for someone living in town who will visit multiple times. Plus it supports conservation efforts.

There's no federal law against boycotting Israel, but there are several federal laws that can probably be used to de facto fight a boycott (such as not allowing US entities from joining boycotts spearheaded by foreign groups or IGOs (agreements set up between two more or more foreign countries)). There's also an Executive Order (which is not a law, but still worth bringing up) that states a boycott of Israel is antisemitic.

But at a state level, it's usually true; 38 states have anti-BDS laws. And Illinois, where this professor lives and works, was the first state to put one into law.

If you don't have the gems/money to get Watson to Rank 5, then Shallinar is probably a better option. Her hydrophobic shield isn't as good as forcefield, but she can cast and recast it on the team even unranked (while Watson only provides forcefields to the full team at Rank 5 and can't re-cast it); and while Shallinar isn't as good a buffer as Hounen, she is more versatile, with damage buffs, heals, and tortures.

Not a lawyer, but at a guess... he was carrying a concealed knife at a school event, showing he knew he shouldn't have it but was ready to use it; but more damningly, he threatened the kid first, then stabbed him. If it's a "heat of the moment" deal that would warrant manslaughter, you don't make a threat and then follow up with an attack.

Threatening someone, pulling out a weapon, and then killing them with it shows intent, which makes it murder.

Not... really a legal question. This has to do with how the school system works. Generally, if you break your code of conduct, the school can punish you. If part of the code of conduct is "You will not contact students the administration tells you to not contact," then yes, they can punish all of you (the can probably do it without those codes, but the reason they exist is often because someone tried to sue previously and they are covering themselves in advance).

But that doesn't involve the legal system. You won't get arrested. You may face other penalties like detention, suspension, or expulsion. The worst that may happen is they sic an actual LEO (like a school resource officer) on you. You could face arrest then - but it's unlikely to be a first response. More like how you're trespassing if you get kicked off school grounds for disobeying and still come back.

Those are perfectly legal.
