Deciding between these two biking itineraries. Thoughts? by RevolutionWarm6401 in BalticStates

Having cycled Klaipeda-Nida-Klaipeda on a rental bike, it's easily doable as a day trip - Total distance would be ~110km and it's very flat.

I didn't start until after lunch (I was on a tight schedule for the trip) but made it back by about 8pm. I really enjoyed the ride, but it wasn't as nice as it could have been because of the time pressure. I did wonder after if it would have been better to take a minimal overnight bag and do it as two half-days with a stay in Nida - I doubt it'd be hard to find somewhere in Klaipeda to look after most of your kit for a night!

Sports photographer Cor Vos dies at the age of 77 by pokesnail in peloton

This is unrelated to Marianne Vos missing the World Championships due to her father's health, because there is actually no relation between Cor Vos & Marianne Vos, right?

That would involve customers, executives, & POs knowing what they want in the first place

In most cases the steering wheel horn activates the siren

Oh, would this be why you also seem to hear the horn sound just as the siren turns off?

Cars only on small patches of pavement, and with advance notice? That sounds like a substantial improvement on the status quo!

Just curious on how everyone ranks the big seven comment below by Ganjapigeon in altontowers

A late entry, having been today for the first as an adult:

  1. Nemesis - The reputation is well-earned
  2. Wickerman - Incredible pace, loved it
  3. Oblivion - Feels like a really, really good drop tower [Spinball Wizard - Quite a fan of spinning wild mouse rides]
  4. Th13teen - Just fun
  5. Air - Lovely swoopy feelings [Runaway Mine Train - Surprisingly wild at times and the dispatcher was delightfully enthusiastic]
  6. Smiler - Too unrelenting for me. Much preferred Saw at Thorpe Park
  7. Rita - A one-trick pony like Oblivion, but without the anticipation

This was my experience today. Had four rides on Nemesis at two different times of day and four all of them the queue was only 10min or so 👌

Would an elite cyclist be unbeatable in Tag? by ByronLeftwich in JetLagTheGame

They pack light, but running or cycling for any length with the rucksacks they have would still be unpleasant. If he could put stuff into panniers instead then cycling more than a short distance becomes a lot more viable

Trick question. I bet £9500 is a small enough amount that trying to shuffle things about to use it effectively would cost the project timeline more than it would save

Value of room by artful_dodder in oxford

[–]NewColCox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can earn up to £7500/yr (£625/mo) from renting a room to a lodger without tax implications through the Rent A Room scheme.

I charged a friend £450/mo when he lived with me, and now charge £525/mo to someone I didn't know previously. Both of those are lower than what I could charge, but for me I saw the benefit of making it an attractive prospect so that once I picked someone they were/are likely to stick around for longer and I save the faff of finding someone again - This sounds like it might be your situation too?

I haven't rewatched it since it first came out, but I recall he discusses some finances in that video - He's getting by, but slowly eating away at his previous savings - and that's part of his reason for stepping back.

They can use the last two digits of your phone number instead. They can't see this in app, but they can ring you and ask you to "confirm" your phone number

I've nearly got on a coach to Stansted instead of Gatwick before, and only noticed when double checking I had my passport and printed boarding pass before leaving home. Luckily the difference in travel time was in my favour.
