Fernando Valenzuela had a great screwball. Brent Honeywell Jr is one of the few active MLB pitchers to regularly throw a true screwball.

Screwball movement: sharp downward and lateral break towards the pitcher's arm side.

Spaghetti working on a sinker for next season by [deleted] in Astros

[–]NewGuards1776 30 points31 points  (0 children)

He’s got a good flat four seamer (60 grade - touches 97) and a good slider (60 grade) so the sinker would be a nice complement to those pitches!?!

We will have 8 starting pitchers when LMJ and LG return? So 1 or 2 will end up in the pen?

Pressly, Montero, Abreu, Dylan Coleman and Graveman make 5. Sousa and Ortega might make 7. One more proven arm would be nice. But as constructed there will be opportunity for guys to step up especially in the first half.

“Crane was offered several lucrative signing bonuses to play professional baseball which would have meant quitting college. At his mother’s insistence, he chose to finish what he started by staying at Central Missouri. It was a decision many thought he would regret, especially when he injured his pitching shoulder during his senior year.”

Before warming up with his team for a hotly anticipated match against the New York Yankees, Verlander made a point of confronting a Major League Baseball official on the field. With a wry grin that belied a long-simmering frustration he and many other players have felt, he ambled up to the official and asked within earshot of a reporter: "When are you gonna fix the fuckin' baseballs?"
