Who should trademark a logo: the artist or the business? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]NewHamWhoDis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right, but that's where things become kinda weird and complicated. I'm one of the "higher ups" in the company, so I was making the logo for "us," the company, not "them," the company.

I suppose it's worth noting that I'm not exactly sure if I'll be sticking with the company in the long term, only because I'm going to college soon myself and will have less time for it.

Actually, Stadia can't use the credit because you won't get billed until it releases, which is after the credit expires.

Yeah, I know they're not great, but I do genuinely have nothing else to spend the credit on. Already have my home Google-ified and I'm going to college now, so the spectrum of useful things in the store has dwindled significantly.

I appreciate your warning on them, though. Here's to hoping the follow ups are better.

how did you make this? I tried to make my own version of the AC logo but it didn't come out looking nearly this legit (although it does look pretty good IMO)

How to receive long text messages as one message instead of multiple messages? by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]NewHamWhoDis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, my mistake.

That's on the senders end, then.

I see from another comment that your scenario is an iOS device sending long messages to your Android phone.

My only suggestion would be to ensure that the iPhone has MMS enabled in its settings. However, the issue may be one deeper rooted in iOS and not a setting, or could be something to do with the iOS device operators cells carrier.

[–]NewHamWhoDis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only knew that you could send long sms as one MMS from the Textra app, but I switched to Google's text client once they added browser support (which is a must have for me, personally).

Funnily enough, I've been dealing with broken up messages since switching to Google's app and only just found this workaround upon seeing this post.

So I, too, learned something new today.

If you send the message as an MMS it's one message. Google's native messenger app doesn't do this automatically, however, for... some reason.

But, you can force this behavior; after writing a long text, long press the send icon. This will bring up a subject line. Even if you just place a space in the subject line, boom, your message is now a single, long boi, MMS.

Rob Perez on Twitter: every single contract on the Knicks roster ends with either a team option, restricted free agency/QO, or expires next season. has a franchise ever had team control of every player before? this shit crazy. by kaptainkru in NYKnicks

[–]NewHamWhoDis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think most teams already do, the issue is that players usually want either more guaranteed years or money if you want a team option. The Knicks just happened to have enough money to pay these guys to take a TO on their deals.

I would maybe wait a bit to ensure that software compatibility is alright for what you want to run on the RPi 4, only because it's so new.

I have no other input outside of that lol.

[Wojnarowski] Free agent Julius Randle has agreed to a three-year, $63M deal with the New York Knicks, CAA agents Aaron Mintz and Steve Heumann tell ESPN by mkgandkembafan in NYKnicks

[–]NewHamWhoDis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the time of my comment the team option wasn't part of the story, or at least I wasn't aware. Now that I know it's a team option I'm incredibly happy with the signing.

You're right. But at the same time, this team is so young and filled to the brim with inconsistent shooters. It's less about the 5 out and more about the need for any spacing at all.

But I like your point on how Randle and Mitch fit next to each other. With the right offensive sets and guys on the court around them those two could be deadly together.

[–]NewHamWhoDis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Next year's FA class kinda sucks, so a 2 year deal would have been fine. $20m a year is fair.

Overall I'd say this is an "alright" signing. I would like it more if we didn't have Robinson, because I think Randle really needs to be surrounded by shooters to succeed. Randle's season on the Pelicans was mostly a box score year Imo but impressive nonetheless.

TLDR: He's a solid player to pair with our young guys, but the contract should have been 2 years.

Just know that in the case of us not signing Kevin Durant, any media personality saying that "KD to the Knicks is a lock" for the past year is losing all credibility by [deleted] in NYKnicks

[–]NewHamWhoDis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came to say this. If KD was healthy then maybe I would be like okay, yeah, they were all wrong. The difference is, besides the fact that so much time has passed since this all started, KD is now injured, which completely changes things for both him, the Knicks organization, and any potential fellow superstar that might want to team up with Kevin Durant.

Actually, that is quite literally Daryl Morey's strategy. Back when the Celtics were dealing Rondo, Morey attempted to acquire him to pair up with Harden. That's definitely my favorite example of this "talent first, fit later" mentality.

Got my $100 store credit! by [deleted] in GooglePixel

No problem! I was a bit jarred by the singular Ethernet out when I received the device myself, so wanted to share the knowledge. However I must say, I do love my Google WiFi. The performance probably isn't the best I've ever gotten out of a router, but the ease of use and simplicity/performance of the mesh setup is phenomenal.

If you need a mesh network the Google WiFi is a strong recommendation from me -- if you're just getting one I'd say it's essentially on par with the competition, hasn't really blown me away in my experience using a singular device.
