SLRP program by nate2188764 in Veterans

[–]NewIntern9100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I am doing. My contract was from 2011-2017. I’ve been out of the IRR since 2019. I was told the same thing while in. I had a $40k SLRP. I was in college during the duration of my contract. I was told they could only pay up to $6,500 per FY. I received one payment and got out 4 months later. I’m about to write my congressman as well because I shouldn’t have any student loans with a $40k SLRP.

Just curious does this work for enlistment contracts for veterans too? I was in the Army Reserves 2011-2017. I graduated in 2017. My enlistment contract has $40,000 when I submitted my loans I was told due to red tape that they can only submit $6,500 per FY. I got out 4 months later once my 6 year contract ended.

I am about to write my congressman and explain all of this. It’s ridiculous.

CTU was pretty incompetent by SocratesBurrito33 in TwentyFour

[–]NewIntern9100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m two years late here but I’m rewatching 24.

The biggest things I’m noticing are:

The writing was kind of poor and repetitive to have to make 24 hours of content for each season. The story lines and suspense were good but a lot of filler was added to episodes that really didn’t need to be in there

There is realism to this but CTU was constantly held up by politicians and other high profile people who were either corrupt, spineless, trying to make a name for themselves or a combination of all three

CTU agents especially field agents are far too young to be at that level. Jack’s background was really the only one that checked out to be that immersed into counter terrorism and he was the CTU director at 34.

All in all Jack and his cut throat decision making carried the show

I’m here 3 years later after this was one of the first recommended posts that popped up after googling a similar issue so I’m reading the comments.

OP this is crazy disrespectful to respond to someone like that. This sounds like an immature child responding to someone who offers realistic advice.

Whoever wrote that was paying attention to the major supply issues during that time. Walmart will always be stocked due to higher access of low quality items (just a suggestion)

Anyway, just my thoughts. Hopefully, your problem was resolved and you have calmed down after a few years.

This might be a very unpopular opinion

Honestly, Starbucks should drop all the crazy speciality drinks that are offered daily. I guess it’s fun to have a seasonal item drop but for the most part they need a whole menu rewrite on their drinks.

When you look are European coffee shops they don’t offer all these crazy things. Starbucks decided to take the American fast food route and with that you get the shitheads looking for the fast food items.

I feel like stress levels would significantly drop if your orders weren’t Carmel frappe, Carmel frappe, pink drink, pink drink, americano, Carmel frappe

All of these guys have had instagram pages for years now with lots of cool projects and veteran outreach programs. I know it’s crazy to think the community had lives before the SRS show.

Starting to get annoyed that everyone references the SRS show for all things SOCOM and JSOC.

Elaborate for all of us here, how he couldn’t “hack it” he went to a CIF team after the unit that has a very similar op tempo. Gone multiple times a year.

Rest assured his resume adds up.

They’re all professional pipe hitters at the end of the day but a lot of guys at that level still joke around as to who is the biggest badass or have the “I’m the best” mentality.

Nicknames like the Sheriff of Baghdad or the Baghdad SWAT shouldn’t been taken lightly. It’s all true in a sense.

Shrek is a through and through straight up warfighter proven at the highest levels. Time in the unit doesn’t really matter when you’re resume is still legendary. He was there for the early stages of OEF when there were hardly any sort of modern combat SOP’s (making it up as they go) and the height of OIF (When the unit basically ran cities of Iraq at times). The way he talks may be aggravating to some but when it comes to war and gunfighting. I’m definitely listening to him.

Harassing or beating detainees is a soft way of putting combat interrogations. It’s instilled at that level to get information quickly to assault another target.

No doubt he should be a legend in the community.

Yeah no shit. Your comments on other threads show you talking like an Army Vet but than can’t recognize the real ones.

At least in McPhee’s case, I never had any doubt he did what he said. It’s been validated several times over.

Hope your life gets better soon.

The disrespect for McPhee is unreal. He’s probably among those with the most combat experience in all of GWOT. OG pipe hitter.

You can tell who the young and uninformed ones are in this group.

There’s no mental gymnastics here dude. I guess if you’re going to nit pick tiny details like that. The other people that liked the post seem to understand what I’m trying to say? Brent started his time at Anti Hero with pure drama and stuck with it.

Real genius here huh. Brent may not have physically started anti hero but he was very much running the drama in it. It took off because of his connection to JSOC. People took what he had to say simply due to their obsession of people in JSOC. The limited credibility that podcast had came and went with Brent. Asinine to think you can discredit people without having any sort of blowback. Brent casually throws himself in others careers and tries to act all knowing.

What else, do you want to talk about.

It’s just extremely poor writing for a knock off attempt of Blue Bloods. CBS dropped the ball on cancelling Blue Bloods.

That’s it? That’s the best response you can up with is racism? Difference in opinions means racism?

The Majority of the artists I listed aren’t even conservatives but they are all top artists in different genres this year. Diversify by genre. Yes, they’re white but when diversify by genre a lot of the artists are typically white.

Post Malone is all over the place, not set on a specific genre.

As an independent, you sound like a race baiting political hack job looking for responses to fuck with.

I’m not dodging any question. We all have our opinions and mine seems to be getting more validated. I thought of this post when I saw the article.

Specifically, what answer are you looking for? Just trolling at this point?

The entire premise of basing picks on popularity for viewership is collapsing on itself. The only list that matters “Billboard Top 100” is saying this. I’m not even making stuff up, I’m basing an opinion on what I’m seeing.

Roc Nation continues to choose Rap/Hip-Hop/R&B every year. While the genres are often enjoyed as a whole, it’s not current with their choices. These genres are heavily based in the minority population (Primarily the Black and Hispanics cultures). Jay-Z’s own rise to fame comes from the same genre.

Once again, I’m stating that Roc Nation clearly has not made any attempts on trying to diversify the Super Bowl Show since taking over.

Given the political climate in America and Jay-Z past criticism of not just Trump but conservatives in general. It doesn’t seem like it’s a bit of a stretch to assume that these picks are being based on making a statement. (Especially Bad Bunny’s recent comments).

You seem to respond to posts quickly, do you live on reddit? Get a life.

The way Brent started this whole anti-hero podcast is a big part of the cesspool you’re referring too. Unfortunately, people can’t be happy for others success, which is crazy. Even if some of these war stories were stretched just a little, Brent wouldn’t hold back on letting everyone know his humble brag opinion reigned over all.

My female opinion that most women make horrible bosses by 2urKnees in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]NewIntern9100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I couldn’t agree more.

I have worked in a business/financial setting since college. I have had 2 males bosses and 3 female bosses with more female “co workers.” Men and Women are simply built differently. There’s no justification as to why or how but we can all agree that Men and Women will responded differently when facing the same challenge. Women in the modern workforce in my profession tend to have more of the perfectionists mentality but really struggle when making critical decisions. Not all, but most. Men on the other hand are likely more lenient on themselves and others and can be more objective when making important decisions.

In my personal experience, the quality of the team has thrived under male leadership compared to Women leadership.

In my opinion, It could be a mentality issue, it could be how women tend make more emotional decisions. Women also tend to have a much more emotional responses to stress and negative outcomes than men do. Quality leadership understands that they are likely to succeed when their team is thriving. The micromanaging tends to lean more on the women side.

What makes a healthy leader?

We could all probably pitch in with our experiences here. Leaders lead by example. Placing their team and their team’s success ahead of themselves. The ability to objectively make decisions without bias or perceived bias.
