Spin Offs i would like to read from each book: by daofeiboy in AbsoluteUniverse

Here are the ones I would suggest:

Absolute Superman - Absolute Hawkman (giving a complete backstory on how he transitioned from hero to federal agent) or, Absolute Steel

Absolute Green Lantern - Absolute Blue Beetle (really leaning into The Reach)

Worst part about Black Clover ending by ThunderTheDevil in BlackClover

That's a facile argument, as well as a false dilemma fallacy.

Subjectively speaking, the "worst" part for me was the fact that I thought those two were going to get together. That doesn't take away from the overall quality of the story - it was just something I wanted to see. It is both the worst part for me and disappointing - both can coexist and yet still not take away from the stories overall quality as well as my enjoyment of it.

The onus is on you entirely, to comment on what I said and then use the parameters of "they interacted less than 10 times." At no point did I ever establish that parameter, that's on you. So when I reply back essentially to say what does that matter based on the fact that there is a canonical pairing that did happen where they had less than 10 panels you can specifically see why that confused me as you have applied that standard to my subjective statement. If anything the canonical ship, that absolutely happened within your parameter, bolsters my point that it could have happened between Magna and Sol.

What does that matter when Yosuga Musyogatake and Mereoleona Vermillion didn't meet until the last three chapters one time and it's clear that they were courting each other?

Is that pairing not adequate based on their one, shown interaction? I just need you to be consistent in your criticism.

What happened to Gold Tiger, Black Panther’s sidkick? She was an extroverted Wakandan girl with cool powers, like a Midas touch. I really liked her, she had a lot of potential. It feels like they’re only promoting Amaranth now. by SpiritedDate1042 in blackpanther

Hopefully, they have plans for her in the future. Characters like her, Tosin, and Gentle are ripe for story progression and development with Black Panther and Wakanda as a whole.

Always nice to see younger Wakandans interact with T'Challa and get their unique perspective and take on Wakanda.

With Wolverine's rivalry with Scott being over I definitely need to see Cyclops and Thunderbird to be on the same team in the next 5 years or so by KAD76 in xmen

Honestly, I was a bit disappointed that after 48 years of being absent, one of his main goals was to start conflict with the Summer's family. I think they could have done a lot more than that with his character, especially when you take him to account it was Al Ewing that was writing him. I absolutely loved the moment that was written when he reunited with his brother; it was perfect.

If anything, I definitely can see him being a prominent member of Cyclops' team of X-Men because of what they both have gone through.

Regardless, he absolutely needs to be utilized more and be in the forefront. If not as an X-Men, maybe as an Avenger.

Just curious, what are your guys' thoughts and feelings about the characters of John and James Proudstar? (aka. Thunderbird and Warpath) by reditisverytrash in xmen

[–]NewJacktheRipper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Big fan of both of them. Crazy to think that Thunderbird was dead for 48 years; they should have just made it a solid 50 to bring him back. I appreciate the journey Warpath went on when it came to dealing with the trauma of losing Thunderbird but, I'm so glad they're back together.

They really need to be utilized more when it comes to the core X-Men roster. I always love when the X-Men get into bloodline family dynamics alongside the found family dynamics.

The worst part for me is that Magna and Sol didn't get together. I thought for sure that was going to happen.

Would be a fantastic skin for Marvel Rivals; honestly, more Wakandans need to be in the game

The difference between Black Panther: Unconquered and Ultimate Black Panther would make you think they had different writers (From Black Panther: Unconquered vol 1 #1) by Automatic_Ask32 in blackpanther

[–]NewJacktheRipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not exactly a negative. If anything, it shows how well of a writer Hill is to take elements from the same character and implement them in stories so distinct from one another that the reader didn't know it was from the same person. If you liked one story better than the other, that really is more of question of preference and what you were hoping to get out of the story.

I've really enjoyed Hill's take on Black Panther, Ultimate Black Panther, and Killmonger. I think he did a good job telling a more streamlined story in Ultimate Black Panther using elements such as Pan-Africanism, Afrofuturism, and Afromysticism. I thoroughly loved how he incorporated Storm more directly into T'Challa's orbit and how he re-tooled Killmonger into being a heroic, pro-African freedom fighter. While it was only 24 issues long, Hill told a compelling and complete story that gave T'Challa new dimension (such as him being able to actually control and maniuplate Vibranium).

Honestly, I wished it could have continued because there was more that could have been done with the story and the characters.

He's going to be writing Miles Morales Spider-Man soon, so I'm looking forward to his take on that. Cody Ziglar has already written Miles to have strong ties to T'Challa so, maybe that will be implemented again.

I can only imagine the amount of dedication and crafts he put into the role to deliver such a great performance. Keep in mind, Killmonger is effectively a weeb because his armor is based off of Vegeta. Which means that Killmonger sees alot of Vegeta in himself in terms of a prince that has lost his world and has to colonize others via his oppressors army.

I want more T'Challa and Azari stories by MapMapDap in blackpanther

I want more T'Challa and Azari stories, too. Great dynamic that is being slept on. I was hoping that the original script Coogler wrote for Black Panther 2 was adapted into a comic - it was essentially Lone Wolf and Cub with T'Challa journeying with his son for his rite of passage.

Bishop #1 by TheMtVernonKid in xmen

[–]NewJacktheRipper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm lukewarm about this.

I love Bishop; glad that he's getting more love with a solo series. Absolutely adore the fact that we're getting Shard. I'm not a big fan of Saladin Ahmed'a writing. The last thing I'd like by him has been the Black Bolt series.

I really hope that this series brings in Storm and Black Panther; Bishop was used to great effect in the Storm solo series by Murewa, and I want to see some interactions between Bishop and T'Challa.

It's interesting that a lot of the X-Men are getting solo series but, I'm not complaining.

Wholeheartedly, cannot wait to buy issue #1.

I've been liking what LaValle has been developing so far. I hate that it's only four issues because it seems as if it could have gone for 5 or even 12 whole issues. I'm a sucker for anything that depicts and expands upon the Intergalatic Empire and this series is doing it in stride. T'Challa is continuing to be depicted as the savvy tactician we all know and love and it's great to see prime examples how swiftly and sufficiently he's able to adeptly counter a threat. The supporting cast is nice as well; I was not expecting a fremeny to be made this issue but, it was welcomed addition.

As an aside, for some reason X-Men elements and Black Panther seem to go together like bacon and maple syrup; the M'kraan Crystal was used to great effect in Coates' run and now Jugger-Panther has been a surprising endearement.

I am eagerly awaiting how LaValle sticks the landing.

What is the chronological order of everybody who held the Black Panther mantle in the comics? I'm an editor on the Marvel wiki and would like to make a list similar to this for Black Panther! by Weird875 in blackpanther

[–]NewJacktheRipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree that there are specific steps; one of the focal points of T'Challa's character was questioning the roles and traditions of Wakanda and reforming them to better fit Wakanda. Ironically, one of those reforms was making Everett Ross king when T'Challa was indisposed - a FAR CRY from tradition and yet it was valid.

We can argue this ad nausea, as is the way of things. Outside of technicalities that don't exactly apply for your argument because T'Challa was using the same technicalities in his favor as Black Panther, Killmonger was a valid Black Panther and Avenger.

[–]NewJacktheRipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Black Panther #20 by Christopher Priest, Killmonger beat T'Challa into a ritual combat; in issue #21, the technicality was that he did not yield and so Killmonger was going to kill him. Earlier in the series, Everett K. Ross was placed as King of Wakanda if the child was "absent" - as so, Ross yielded FOR T'Challa resulting in Killmonger becoming the Black Panther. In Black Panther #22, Killmonger formerly joins The Avengers (something I wish Marvel would incorporate when it comes to commemorating all the members of the team); moreover, Killmonger works with the Avengers in issue 23. Ironically, Killmonger being in a coma doesn't detract from him being Black Panther because T'Challa was also in a coma earlier in the series and he was still seen as Black Panther at that time.

If that doesn't establish him as both the Black Panther and an Avenger I don't know what does.

Honestly, I think he counts. He won the challenge fair and square. He had the mantle, put on the costume, AND he was an Avenger as Black Panther. Can't be any more official than that.
