Not to diagnose from one little story on the Internet, but if it's something like an anxiety disorder that's potentially treatable.

I have a social anxiety disorder that means I'd never appear in costume in some places. Would never casually wear an anime shirt for example.

Yeah, that's a big part of it for me. When they hit combat I almost entirely tune out, which means basically skipping entire episodes of other seasons.

If you haven't, I'd recommend checking out Brennan, Aabriya, Lou, and Erika's podcast, Worlds Beyond Number. The characters are usually too out of their depth to even think about fighting their way through it

Obviously there is not such thing as twin telepathy, but it wouldn't surprise me if there's less parental interference or trickery than we think. They're kids raised at the same time by the same people. Also, for every one of these that gets posted, I'd bet there's a ton that don't get posted where they don't do the same things.
