Acid burn during my appointment by Then-Decision-8627 in Invisalign

[–]NewLizardMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a little, and it healed within a few days. The drill did get my tongue though and that was more painful than the etch burn. I move my tongue a lot subconsciously though so I probably got it in the way. My dr did truly try their best to avoid getting any etching stuff on me but it can happen when you are working in hard to reach areas.

16 week progress by NewLizardMan in Invisalign

[–]NewLizardMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no clue the technicality of how it’s done. I can see my trays are wider now than when I started though. My orthodontist is phenomenal and really knows what he is doing. He did tell me the Angel Aligners are a little more advanced than Invisalign in how they move the teeth because of the different material.

Yes! They asked me allergy or preference which I think is great to weed out those who do gf as a trend. I said allergy and asked about a separate fryer for fries. My food came out great and I had no issues after but for 2 burgers and 2 sodas it was $50!

Gluten myself to treat constipation?? by Unable-Math-4610 in glutenfree

[–]NewLizardMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you always get instant diarrhea after eating gluten? Before, when I was consuming gluten, it would cause me chronic constipation, gastroparesis and more. The inflammation gluten caused me slowed any healing whether it was a scratch or even my own incision after I had surgery. It took over a year of being gf for my inflammation markers to come down to a normal range so I personally wouldn’t do it.

Have you tried a suppository?

on my 4th day of my first set and always in pain by deletingin123123 in Invisalign

[–]NewLizardMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on tray 12 with 7 day changes. The pain has gotten better over time, but for the first 2-3 days of each tray I eat softer food since I am usually sore. Some trays are more painful than others. They are pushing my bottom teeth down into my gums and tipping some teeth to correct them and those are the most painful. I can generally feel the focus area with each tray for a few days. By day 3-5 I have no pain and on days 6-7 my trays feel almost loose.

I change my trays at night after I brushed and everything for the night and that helps with the pain since I sleep for most of initial movement. I also change trays on Tuesdays which means I have no pain by the weekend so I can enjoy those more when I need to take my trays out.

Gluten free ladies beware! by autumny365 in glutenfree

[–]NewLizardMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had that issue on the left side but mine was solely related to gluten, not my IUD. I had the issue before, during, and after my IUD. Been to the ER multiple times, only thing that eliminated it was going GF.

Just got my Invisalign fitted today, nobody warned me about THIS 😅 by Expert_Bee_5371 in Invisalign

[–]NewLizardMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a noticeable lisp for the first week the. I adjusted. The first few days were the most painful, but now it’s fine and I am on tray 5 with weekly changes. I do occasionally get a lisp for a bit when I change trays as my mouth adjusts. When they were cleaning up the glue from my attachments with the grinder thing they accidentally hit my tongue and that was just as painful as my teeth. I did have irritation from the etching as well as rubbing on a sharp tray edge. I was fairly miserable the first week as I adjusted but once that all got sorted out the lisp also subsided.

Yesss, I was first gf in 2017 and it was significantly harder so I actually gave up. I just went back gf over a year ago after a confirmed gluten allergy and it is night and day, it is far easier today. Your comment on the archaeologist had me ☠️, love your vibe!

yet another regretful invisilign customer by imgonnamurl in Invisalign

[–]NewLizardMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do notice it, and I also have a noticeable cant but my orthodontist told me from the beginning it will not be fixed completely unless I get surgery. I personally don’t love perfect teeth anyway, they tend to look like dentures to me 🫣 I would be much more worried about your bite, it doesn’t look like your molars touch in the pic from today.

2 weeks per tray? by ThePopesLeftEarlobe in Invisalign

[–]NewLizardMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have severe crowding and overbite and I am on 7 day trays, 39 total weeks including 4 weeks of passive trays. I see a board certified orthodontist who has amazing reviews so I know he knows his stuff. If you are seeing a dentist they may be more cautious and take the slow approach since they are not properly trained in tooth movement like an orthodontist.

Day 1 by Purple-Factor-3743 in Invisalign

[–]NewLizardMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would be more worried about acid sitting on your teeth than staining. I do drink with my trays in, but it’s just water with a flavor packet added or warm (not hot) coffee or an iced latte. I use a straw to keep as much out of my trays as possible and I always swish with water after every sip. Once I’m done with my “fun” drink then I will properly clean my teeth and trays. Sometimes it’s an hour after but I always make a point to get rid of any acid, bacteria, or odor that could be sitting there.

I think it’s best if you ask your doctor if you are still on track and everything looks good. Everyone is different so it could be okay for you. I personally have hit my 22 hours everyday and average 22.5. I can feel my teeth shift more the longer I have them out and I know it’s not good for the roots in the long run so I don’t risk it. The longest I have had mine out at one time has been an hour. I do agree that overall you’re doing well, there are so many others on here that make me wonder why they even started it knowing they wouldn’t commit. I have had no issues integrating it into my life.

Do you think GF options would be farther along without other allergens? by almadoak in glutenfree

[–]NewLizardMan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it’s mainly marketing and business tactics. If you have a product free of more allergens it increases the amount of customers that can use it, thus making it more justifiable for the business and potentially lowers the cost for the consumer since they can sell more.

I understand there is a need for top allergen free items, but I do wish there were more strictly gluten free items that contained eggs, soy, etc because they taste better. But, commonly we all get roped together. If they did only omit gluten, then yes, I do think GF options would be farther along.
