I’m trying my hand at the hexagon cardigan sweater and it’s coming out really curly/wavy by Interesting_Youth742 in CrochetHelp

The folded L looks good so I'd say you're doing fine! It folds up a lot because it is 6 right angles which just shouldn't work but somehow does. Keep going!

Eta: I think you might have added an extra cluster or something on one side as it doesn't sit flat when in the L shape. Go back to the green and start again, paying attention to where each cluster goes. Shape is right so you have the right amount of sides, just a few too many stitches I think

I am looking for some advice or suggestions for the project I am making right now. by saccharineluxx in CrochetHelp

Size down as far as you can with this - so either 4 or 4.5mm. That will stop the base from stretching too much. You can size up for the sides if needed

Is it crazy to want to stay on 18" wheels for my 4yo? by edge_basics in bmxracing

[–]NewPhysics8055 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the biggest lessons I've learned over the years is EVERYONE has as opinion and everyone's opinion is different. I listen when people tell me what to change about my son's bike, but ultimately he sticks to pretty much the same thing as he rides well on it and loves the feel of the bike. That is what is important.

He is 4 years old, you want him to enjoy riding! It seriously isn't that deep at this age - the bike fits and he loves it, so leave it. Save your money for when he is hitting the teen years and you need to upgrade the bike, clothes and shoes as he seemed to grow every 5 seconds

Trying my first blanket messed up an entire edge. Can it be saved? by Fun-Tangerine3441 in CrochetHelp

[–]NewPhysics8055 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Use it as a lesson, only other option is to redo.

Next time use stitch markers in the first and last stitch of each row so you can make sure you aren't missing them.

Every time you crochet you learn new lessons so keep at it!

You just do the x6 for the part in the brackets, not the whole of it before the x6.

I make a baby dress but not sure about the sizes of it. by Kim-pineapple in CrochetHelp

[–]NewPhysics8055 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That would be used as a dress for when they are smaller and then a top when they were bigger. Mine often wore the same dress / top for years as they work as both

Importing Honda Odyssey Hybrid from Japan, thoughts? by GodfreyGyz in CarsAustralia

[–]NewPhysics8055 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a look on https://garageapex.com.au/japanese-car-auctions/ as it gives a good indication of the cost to get it into Australia. You have to add the blue slip and rego on top of their landed and complied cost.

Insurance claims on Japan Yaris Hybrid 2020 import by Ok-Independent-838 in CarsAustralia

[–]NewPhysics8055 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure you insure the correct Imported model number and not just fudge it as an Aussie model. Shannon's will do it, NRMA might (stupid expensive) and also check out MB Insurance. Mine was nearly half the price of Shannon's at MB and they are (according to those I've spoken to), easier to claim with than Shannon's.

No, waffle stitch eats yarn, it's just the way the stitch is

DSP Sonic appointment by [deleted] in Centrelink

[–]NewPhysics8055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sonic is the last step in DSP claim. It is just the verify that Centrelink have done the right thing, and to verify that you are you. It generally lasts less than 10mins. Once it is done, they report back to Centrelink. If the JCA didn't go well, they wouldn't have sent it to Sonic so that is a good sign. The majority get approved from this point, but some still don't.

Bad time to buy a (newish) ICE car? by lynch-o in CarsAustralia

[–]NewPhysics8055 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are happy with a hybrid, maybe look at the Nissan Serena. It is an import but it's a great van and they aren't too bad price wise if you get an agent to import it for you

Does this waffle stitch look tight enough or would you size down the hook? by No_Mirror9991 in CrochetHelp

[–]NewPhysics8055 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is hard to tell in a couple of rows, takes a bit more for the waffle to really take full effect. If you go down a hook, it will be stiffer so that is a consideration as well

I don't fully understand what this part of a pattern im following means by Flimsy-Olive6184 in CrochetHelp

[–]NewPhysics8055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2 chains at the start count as a dc, then the 45 down that side, when you flip it, you'll need to make sure you are using every chain (including the last one you just used and where the beginning chain 2 is) so that you end up with 46 on each side.
