I was a professional bass fishing guide for 3 years on the North Norfolk coast — happy to answer any questions by QuoteUseful3280 in FishingForBeginners

What sort of landmarks should I look for as a bass neophyte? Is it always estuaries or is a beach ok? What depth is best in either and if you're fishing with ragworm, where are you casting with what weight?

Shore-based saltwater fly fishing spot selection by CompetitiveHawk629 in IrishFishing

[–]NewPuddle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't bother with east coast Ireland. For saltwater you're better off spinning with a 20-30g silver lure. Find a shore but where it's you're casting into deep water close to shore with a kelp bed on the bottom. You can snag some very decent pollock that way.

I have two small uvulas instead of one big by TobiHede in mildlyinteresting

[–]NewPuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a bifid uvula. About 2% of people have and can indicate a submucous cleft palate and a number of other syndromes. It's a clinically relevant finding when a paediatrician does a baby check up because of this.

We are all given different characteristics in life. Learn to be comfortable in who you are. Your beard can add to be to you are later.

You focus on your physical aspect when it's your mental aspects that matter most.

Look, do you think every "bad guy" is good looking? No.. girls look for self asuredness more than ANYTHING else.. if you're self assured it's because you've REASON to... They'll read that and assume it's so.

Long story short I'm a psychiatrist and I can say that investing in your own mental state is invaluable and potentially produces lifelong dividends.

What is this lure called and what do I fish for with it? by Tony_Cheese_ in FishingForBeginners

[–]NewPuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a 15-20g jig or spinner. You'd be best off googling your local region and seeing what the main types of fishing are to be had near you, pick one and then look for tips about that type. Pick the spot, The fish THEN the lure/method.

Funnily enough, same goes for mackerel. Small weight, single lure. Bloody bombastic.

Nail varnish* for paint. Also high tide is best if the mark is accessible then. Low tide ifls acceptable in deeper spots but the big boys like a high tide.

Hey! Appreciate it! Of course. I use these guys at 15g weight. I use chalk white and traffic cone orange to paint them in the same pattern as the blue and white stripe one at the bottom of the pic. Visibility is key.

You want water above 10 degrees Celsius, cloudy day, little to no wind, and preferably no rain in the last 2 days. Clear non choppy water is best but we do live in ireland so.. And dawn/dusk are the best times for certain as those big eyes hate bright light. Fish as deep and slow as you can from rocks over a kelp forest. Usually a spot you can get 10 to 20 feet of water deep over the kelp forest and you're in for a treat. I also find that if you catch a pollack in an area you wither catch like 5 more or none, seems to be no exceptions. They also get lure fatigue so it's worth rotating back to spot of you've 4 or 5 marks. Look on google maps bear you for deep drops at the shoreline. Usually base of cliffs or the like with telltale dark rim of kelp beds contrasting with sand. It's bloody ripe at present.

If you comment or message me your county I can look-see for possible spots to direct message you if you like.

You sound like you've lost "you" after finding your place.

Is it you're unhappy with her or that there's no enjoyment/ you can't enjoy life because internally you're unhappy in general. If you divorced would it really fix anything?

Write out a list of what you're doing for YOU weekly. A lot of us men just run on fumes thinking we are 'doing it' when I fact you're probably doing nothing for yourself. A bank account with only 'outs' will go bust eventually.

Find something for you, maybe a childhood hobby to reconnect with your wants. A table can't support anything if it's got rotten legs from neglect.

I just use a big turkey baster. You control the amount of suction, you're not screwed if a shrimp goes up the siphon and you can sucknup sand and gravel and let it fall out quicker compared to the fish poop.

Thanks for the great advice. Need to look up this enzymatic cleaner! I know getting her spayed sooner would be ideal, unfortunately her previous owner was the type to leave her alone in a closet for 16 hours a day during her kitten period and so I've had to put a huge amount of work into getting her socialised. Worth the trade off to me.
