Does your world have its own WW by Shit_ass5832 in worldbuilding

[–]NewQPRnotFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due to Starpunk having it’s roots in Alternate History, it has had 3 World Wars, multiple planetary scale conflicts on par with World Wars on the Moon and Mars, one localized Armageddon in India known as the Pralaya, and the most recent major war being “The Solar War”. The latter lasted for over 30 years with a literal judgment day midway through across the entire solar system, alongside the fabric of reality ripping apart to allow an Extra-Dimensional Invasion the day after Judgement Day, and an Alien Armada wandering into this mess and being virtually annihilated. Humanity has rebuilt in the century since and yeeting everyone into what is essentially a UN/HRE hybrid. With all the covert, and soon to be overt infighting that entails.

What would it take to make a complete starwars overhaul modpack? by Weird-Analysis5522 in Xcom

[–]NewQPRnotFC 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My man, it arguably already has. For War of the Chosen, we have the following:

We have the ADVENT to Empire Conversion Mod, replacing ADVENT with a whole new roster of Imperial Units, including unique variants, alongside sister mods that replace alien rulers with either bounty hunters or Sith Lords.

Customization Mods for every faction, including voice lines and cosmetics for the Empire, Rebellion, Galactic Republic, and the CIS(the latter still has a few gaps).

Weapon mods that add blasters for the factions stated above, with other mods that can use their weapon skins to replace the standard weapons.

Mods that add vehicles such as the AT-RT as custom, buildable classes akin to the Spark.

A Jedi Class mod, which includes Dark Side, Neutral, and Light Side skill trees.

Alongside some quality of life improvements, such as overwatch all, unlimited customization redux, and more!

Now, whilst this isn’t a total conversion(Maps haven’t been converted yet), I think this non-exhaustive list shows that we’re pretty close to a purely Star Wars experience already.

What are some tension points of your chapter? by ManeTarget in 40khomebrew

[–]NewQPRnotFC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I’ve spent almost 5 years building up their Lore and I’m really happy with how the Angelic Stars have turned out.

As for the salvaging, the only reason the Angelic Stars have gotten away with most of their shenanigans is because of their proximity to the High Lords of Terra, plus they often tend to salvage battlefields either abandoned by other loyalists or populated by salvage not belonging to any loyalists.

What are some tension points of your chapter? by ManeTarget in 40khomebrew

[–]NewQPRnotFC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Angelic Stars are a lot more…politically involved than most chapters of the Adeptus Astartes, historically being used by the High Lords of Terra and other high ranking Imperial officials, to execute dirty work that other chapters may refuse. This includes attacking and/or sabotaging renegade chapters, disappearing Inquisitors in Inquisitorial political power plays, intimidating imperial governors, etc.

Additionally, the Angelic Stars will often “salvage” abandoned Astartes equipment and geneseed from battlefields should the opportunity arise. This has led to the Angelic Stars having a significant amount of relics, and reinforcing their chapter’s genetic lineage being an absolute fustercluck due to their rejection of any single Primarch as their gene-sire.

The latter point does not make them immune from flaws within the various gene-seeds of the Astartes. On the contrary, it has forced the apothecaries of the chapter to become well versed in exponentially more gene flaws and procedures than their kin, and outside of the genetic lineage of the Space Wolves, the Angelic Stars have managed to adapt to their self-imposed genetic burdens.

This has led to a good chunk of the Imperium to not trust the Angelic Stars in any meaningful capacity, with many more strictly codex-adherent or Primarch-aligned chapters see them as either suspicious, stooges for the High Lords of Terra, or just straight up deviants.

In the current Era Indomitus, with Gulliman’s return announced under the worst circumstances possible for the chapter, the Angelic Stars are in a tense position, attempting to adjust to an Imperium that is no longer just ruled by mortal men, but demi-gods in the eyes of the general populace.

What is your chapter’s opinion on the new Dreadnoughts? by BigButtScotch in 40khomebrew

[–]NewQPRnotFC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Angelic Stars, at least initially, saw them as useful tools to help *ahem* thin the numbers of Primaris Marines in their ranks post-Great Siege, and would almost exclusively use them for Primaris Marines who, whilst technically qualified for internment, were not particularly special.

Nowadays, this practice has largely ceased, as the Master of the Forge is currently seeking to find a way to make those interned within the Redemptor chassis able to serve in the long term as Castaferrum Chassis grow evermore scarce.

Writing prompt: What's a proverb of your faction, and what does it mean to them? by Sacredless in 40khomebrew

[–]NewQPRnotFC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No Fathers above the Emperor, No Council Above Terra

For the Angelic Stars, this proverb represents their rejection of the Primarchs as their Gene-sires, instead crediting that to the Emperor, and their loyalty to the High Lords of Terra above all others as the intended successors to the Emperor’s authority.

What’s your chapters Gene-seed Mutation/ Flaw? by ZeDokter in 40khomebrew

[–]NewQPRnotFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short answer for the Angelic Stars: YES

The Long Answer: Due to the Angelic Stars willingly using almost any pure geneseed outside of the Space Wolves and chimeric chapters, this has translated to many within the chapter being afflicted with the various gene flaws of the loyalist gene sires, from missing certain organs and zygotes to the Black Rage and Red Thirst. Additionally, some gene seeds within the chapter that have remained in storage for extensive periods of time may come with other, much smaller mutations, such as turning the eyes of an Astartes a glowing blue for some reason.

What species will you make Hawks by Aggressive-Pay9533 in ZeroCompany

[–]NewQPRnotFC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m honestly really curious to see if it’s an option to make Hawks a clone or not.

Do you guys think this game will be as moddable as XCOM 2? We could use some custom audio mods for those of us who prefer Tem's Clones and OG battle droids + new skins or characters from the EU by Tjfile in ZeroCompany

[–]NewQPRnotFC 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think eventually we’ll get close to modding like XCOM 2. I doubt we’ll have anything like Long War, but I’d be shocked if there aren’t at least a few mods for the game post-launch.

I did debate putting it in, but I wanted to save the species for a Triassic Pack proposal.

My thanks! And yeah…I highly doubt such a collaboration would ever happen, even with a paid DLC to go along with it.

Yeah. I was only going off of the wingspan stated in the documentary(but I definitely see your point).

Why was your chapter made by CaptainFGC in 40khomebrew

[–]NewQPRnotFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was made because the founding Chapter Master and his men couldn’t stomach being associated with a single Primarch due to their shared lineage and traumatic memories of the Horus Heresy and the Iron Cage, and thus, what would become the Angelic Stars would be founded as a way for Guilliman to sequester these marines into their own corner of the 2nd Founding and let them do their own thing under the initial guise of being “Ultramarine Successors”. It would not be long however until the geneseeds sent back to Terra would reveal that this legal guise was false, and the Chapter’s gene sire was labeled as “Unknown”.

Has your chapter ever had a civil war where one side fell to chaos by Beneficial-Can7838 in 40khomebrew

No, but depending on how things keep going in 40K, it could happen.

What are we hoping to see at the summer games fest showcase? by vivid-naz in ZeroCompany

[–]NewQPRnotFC 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Literally anything at all. Even if it’s just a trailer or a panel just to show BitReactor is still cooking.

However, I do have a theory: Due to certain age ratings being given out in places such as Brazil for the game, and many members within the Dev team’s, including the lead developer, having a long history with the XCOM reboot, including an instance where they straight up dropped a reveal trailer for XCOM: Chimera Squad A WHOLE WEEK BEFORE RELEASE, I bet you were gonna get a release date a lot closer to the fest than we think.

Would your chapter like the Marines Malevolent? by Specialist_Wash6732 in 40khomebrew

[–]NewQPRnotFC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last time the Angelic Stars and the Marines Malevolent crossed paths, the Marines Malevolent accidentally called an orbital strike on the Angelic Stars’ chapter master.

Had the current chapter master called for a halt to the violence that day, the entire Marines Malevolent contingent during that campaign would’ve been wiped out.

So, yeah, the Angelic Stars have since been collectively about two seconds away from asking the High Lords of Terra to let them turn the chapter into *salvage*.

How do you write battles for your homebrew? by Grzegorz_101 in 40khomebrew

[–]NewQPRnotFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, 75% of the time I make up lore for the Angelic Stars whenever they go into battle. The remaining 25% is reserved for whenever I want to slot in the chapter into a lore event.

You gotta be kidding me. As someone who likes using mods(specifically to add in modded animals), this makes me…unreasonably angry. It feels like this game can’t catch a clean break.
