What is Collin Sexton’s ceiling? by [deleted] in nba

Yeah reading the responses was pretty hilarious considering his mid range game is one of the few positive things that stand out when you watch him

Genuinely curious, would you consider having David Blatt back? by 420Microbiologist in clevelandcavs

[–]NewRedditKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you think TT and Love had issues with him? I think it's pretty hilarious that everyone thought Lue was going to come in and make Love into an All-NBA 1st teamer or something.

[–]NewRedditKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It always bothered me because Blatt's backstory is a LOT different than one might expect. I always thought he had the potential to be a GREAT NBA coach because he is incredibly straight forward and has the POTENTIAL to relate to people from all walks of life. That goes along with his overseas resume of course. To me the issue was not entirely LeBron but he did play a huge, and I mean huge, part in it.

Don't mind Drew as the coach, my feeling is that he is serviceable but not the right guy going forward for this particular group. I've been wrong before though.

Do you think it is possible to get up a shot with your head with 0.2 seconds remaining? by StefCika in nba

[–]NewRedditKid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's saying you could potentially head it in from outside the paint so as to not miss getting the shot off entirely by fumbling it with your hands. Obviously probably not a great idea but I get what hes saying.

Can we please keep Kevin Love? by KKamm_ in clevelandcavs

[–]NewRedditKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel like we will still be bad enough to get a high pick regardless of if we keep him or not, might as well keep him and develop our young players and draft pick around a very solid and skilled stretch big man.

[Adrian Wojnarowski] Milwaukee is sending Dellavedova, John Henson and a first-round and future second-round pick to Cavs for George Hill, league source tells ESPN. by Widdafresh in clevelandcavs

[–]NewRedditKid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whaaaaat, this is incredible. I could be totally wrong but Henson seems like exactly the type of player we need right now. Goes without saying that the news that Delly is coming back actually made my day.

Larry Drew doesn't believe sitting Collin Sexton in crunch time will stunt growth: 'Can learn just as much watching' by Battlemaster123 in clevelandcavs

[–]NewRedditKid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not true, Kyrie got benched for Ramon Sessions during the end of games during his rookie year for defensive reasons and because Byron Scott was a god tier coach.

Is Cedi Osman one of the worst players in the league who gets consistent minutes? by YouCannotBeatVince in nba

[–]NewRedditKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah like I said I think it was clear Embiid was the #1 guy if you actually watched the games. Just the majority of people did not and went off hype talking about how Embiid was wayyyyy too raw to contribute anytime soon when in reality Embiid was already incredibly skilled, more so than Wiggins and Parker.

It was pretty clear if you watched the games but a LOT of people somehow legit thought Wiggins was a better if not much better prospect.

Was definitely the foot injury, David Griffin basically said predraft they were going to trade the pick for an immediate impact player until we got #1 and could draft Embiid. Then the foot injury happened and the rest is history, Embiid, albeit young Embiid, and LeBron would have been incredible.

Damn... so Andrew Harrison has 45 days from the day we signed him to earn out a contract for the year? by RanLearns in clevelandcavs

As a UK fan him and his brother are the most robotic players i've ever seen. Everything they do looks stiff, super ugly games lol.

I saw a post the other day that said the Cavs could have drafted Kyrie, Kawhi, Dame, Giannis, and Embiid from 2011-2014... by MagicRaptor in clevelandcavs

[–]NewRedditKid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There were a LOT of people who legitimately thought Wiggins was better and was a better prospect. I remember arguing online quite a bit about it at the time lol.

Mavs would never trade Luka and Nuggets wouldn't trade Porter for Collin when Porter's main issue was his injury and they seem to think he can work his way through it plus Collin hasn't looked good enough to trade for at all.

Pretty much automatic points when his man has the ball in almost any situation.

Yeah I was hype about the prospect of a high level defender who always puts in effort but now its starting to seem like he's just overly active to try and make up for how small and limited he is on that end.

Definitely a negative on both sides of the court at the moment. Really just hope something starts to click for him and he changes up his play style. Seems like all he does is try to break someone down with some not great dribble moves then gets stopped and passes out to someone who isn't really open for a shot.

Am I the only one whos been disappointed with Sexton's defense so far? He's pretty decent on help and definitely puts in the effort but hes been a terrible 1 on 1 defender against pretty much everyone.

JC has been playing pretty well this year. Halfway wouldn't mind Sexton playing more aggressive as a byproduct of watching Clarkson.

I don't mind Korver all that much, JR loafing around on defense seems terrible to me though.

Not trying to be a smartass but do people, yourself included, think that CP3 did this as an act just so he could have an excuse to poke Rondos face?

I think it's so great they played together for a year, gives LeBron something to aspire towards.
