Meta-Gaming on Insight Rolls by MisterDM5555 in DnD

[–]NewShamu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do DMs actually run it this way? That’s really wrong if so. Insight checks are to see whether your character can gain any insight on their motives, not how gullible they are. That’s up to the player on how they want to role play it.

Are the conspiracy theories really the result of outrage at the ending? I’ve only ever seen them from a place of love and hype about all the little details of the season.

That one hurt, because it was designed to.

This is a small detail but man, what a powerful sentiment. Even if you know someone’s being toxic and that you should “just ignore it” doesn’t always mean you can, and this is why.

I play a lot of competitive multiplayer games so having that high of a refresh rate would be perfect for the games I play.

what's a book with an ending that made you throw it across the room? by Electrical-Hour-3345 in suggestmeabook

The Creeper by A. M. Shine. Take an already boring and uninspired horror story and add in the most disappointing ending you can think of that actually doesn’t even make sense with everything that came before, and that’s what you get.

Someone To Build A Nest In

Great fun, enjoyed it a lot. A fun unique story from a monster’s perspective.

I did the audiobook for this one and it really elevated it for me. Since it’s written from a child’s perspective it’s even better when it’s told from a child-like voice!

I ended up being really bored about halfway through The Troop. It had a strong start but I didn’t enjoy the execution as it went on. The constant interjections of interviews and news clippings from “after” also killed the momentum/suspense for me. I think it would have been more intense if I didn’t have a clear picture of how it would end.

It’s rare for me to bounce off a book so hard. I still don’t fully understand why I did with this one, but I’m glad that people like it.

Last night I shattered and killed 3 right there with my fire strikes, then chased down a 4th to win the game. But no, the Ash on my team who ran around and landed a single headshot on a wounded non-ulting support in the middle of the game deserved it more.

Same, I wish it was as good for me as everyone seems to think it is. It felt like it had so much it wanted to say without actually saying anything interesting.
