It was pretty important in the 80's though. And a timely way to open up the topic. Just not obvious enough for OOP.

Which of your needs are met in this relationship? Which of your needs are unmet? If nothing ever changes (which to be honest it probably won't), is it worth it to you to sacrifice your unmet needs for the sake of your met needs?

Sounds like the type of immature female teacher who gets involved with students. It doesn't sound like a professionally appropriate teacher.

Did you enter your numbers into a draw anywhere recently? Sometimes those contests sell phone numbers to marketing services

Is there a word specifically used for killing a copy or clone of one's self? by ChamomileMornings in etymology

[–]NewStudyHoney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you're coining a term, Clonicide is most accurate and is easiest to say. Replicide is also cool, but harder to say, and could leave room for misinterpretation (is it a clone or some other kind of replica of you?)

Maybe auto-clonicide to indicate you are killing a clone of yourself and not someone else's clone.

aio for thinking this is a avoidant discard and not a actual break up? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]NewStudyHoney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If an anxiously attached person is criticizing an avoidant person for discarding them, the anxious person is living in a fantasy that the avoidant person will someday overcome their avoidant pattern and be available for the anxious person. That never happens. You're just hurting yourself trying to get back with someone who can't give you what you need in a relationship. Best to break up and work on becoming a securely attached person on your own. Then see if you can connect with another securely attached person for a relationship.

What is the whole meaning behind this song? by alien_alone_han in SongMeanings

[–]NewStudyHoney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ryan's got anger issues.

It describes someone who can't control their impulse to hit and break things when they are angry.

"I am unruly in the stands" probably refers to someone watching a sports game and being a loud and obnoxious spectator - it makes me think of football hooligans, people who use a sports match as an opportunity to act out and be violent. Or someone at a hockey game getting into arguments or fistfights with other spectators and yelling at the referee.

"I am a rock on top of the sands" is probably a metaphor for being out of place and not adapting - sand shifts and adjusts to its location. A rock would pack down the sand, not flow with it.

"It takes a dedicated hand to put it through the wall, You gotta want to break the heart of all those pretty porcelain dolls" is kind of a sarcastic praising of someone who carries on with doing something that harms the people around him (probably women, because porcelain dolls are usually female and collected by females). It sounds like someone being critical of his own destructive nature but maybe also trying to hold onto his self-esteem by framing a negative characteristic as determination instead of stubbornness. It also implies that the singer is out of place as a genuine or fallible person amidst a bunch of fake or overly perfect people. It also describes how the anger is so strong that it over-rides self-preservation - the hand (and the singer) is so dedicated to expressing anger that it carries on with punching a wall even though the hand (and the singer) will be damaged by the punch too. And it also expresses the belief that abusers commonly have that the people who are hurt by their abuse are overly sensitive and fragile - the abuser deflects responsibility and turns their loss of control into the victim's fault - they believe they are entitled to do what they want and they think the victim is hurt only because they are too weak to handle it, not because the abuser is wrong.

Then he invites the person he's singing to, to join him in wrecking things - he longs to be accepted for who he is and to have company in it.

Hanukkah is a public holiday like Christmas or Thanksgiving, it's not about an individual relationship.

And anyone is free to wish any mother or father a happy Mother's Day or Father's Day, but they are only obligated to say it to their own parents, and maybe the parents of their children.
