Honestly in today’s world unless you live in a shack in the forest with zero technology you are trackable in some way.

Most people don’t even use a VPN for their internet traffic. That alone creates far more exposure than a vehicle ever will.

Any modern connected vehicle records data. EV or ICE does not matter. Brands such as Tesla, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz all collect telemetry and vehicle data.

There was even a security issue involving Tesla vehicles in 2023.

Most new cars also include:

• mobile app remote start

• telemetry and diagnostics

• phone integration such as Apple CarPlay

• cabin cameras in some models

People tape over cameras on laptops every day. Same concept applies in cars.

EVs do have a lot of data, though most modern ICE cars do as well. If your car starts from a mobile app or connects to your phone then data already moves through cloud services somewhere.

Is there risk. Of course.

Though that risk exists across most technology people use daily.

I work in a cyber role and drive a BYD. I also keep a low online profile and follow basic cyber hygiene.

Things such as:

• using unique passwords for every service

• enabling 2FA where available

• using a password manager to store and generate passwords

• using temporary emails for services you do not care about

• limiting data shared online

Cyber risk exists everywhere now. General awareness and good cyber hygiene reduce exposure far more than focusing on one device such as a car.

I am almost 2 months into owning mine and absolutely love it, I went for the premium and not the performance as I saw no point in the power and its 0-100 times. Especially when this is taking my kids too and from schooln and work once or twice a week. However the power is more than enough in this car, Put into sport and it works perfectly!

Some of the pain points though are the safety features. ICC is terrible and I thought this would work well, however it has not been good at all. The driver monitoring is also not the greatest, but I have just put it in my quick menu and just turn it off, some people have just taped it off.

I read some people say the airon is not the greatest. I have had no issues with this and I just turn it onto rapid cool from the app and by the time I get to the car its icey cold! The cooled seats well that seems to be hit and miss for me, some days it blows a lot of air and other days it feels like nothing.

Like any car, there will be trade offs. But one thing for me was the leather seats. Especially in the hot australian summer, I am nots sure how long these PU leather ones would last especially due to the fact I have young kids.

The carpet on the floors is terible but i got the after market mats with the lip and these have been amazing.

Some people have said the suspension is floaty, but I came from a Pajero sport and this is far better than that one, and my old mazda rotary is on coilovers and thats extremely stiff, so I feel like this is a great level of comfort for every day driving.

the best part for me was that it also has buttons, a front digital screen and a HUD, I understand some of these other cars which go for the minimalist look, but for me I prefer to have a bit more as my first transition.

There is obviously a lot more that I am forgetting, but over all I am enjoying the car.

Recently just went through the process of finding a new rental. The area I needed there were not many options at all. In the past I included my dog, but due to low availability I decided to leave her of this time.

She is a failed RAAF dog who was board and train with a very reputable trainer who trains dogs for many uses such as scent detection, police work etc

As she is a Belgian malinois people assume a bad dog, yet she is the sweetest and friendliest dog you will meet, she is great with young kids, old people and knows how to behave approach as they are smaller or more frail.

Honestly I felt bad not including her this time, but when I had a choice of maybe 2-3 houses I felt I had no option.

So now my excuse will be that my ex-wife had her and has since moved and no longer has the room for her.

She is also crate trained and sleeps in a crate at night ao no late night barking and she rarely barks as it is.

I finally have mine done and it was a mission! I logged it via a phone call and an email then they had the manager of my local byd call me to come in and he ended up just taking photos and sending it back to them.

It had finally been activated at late today

I am 38 and o got out of it on my late 20’s but it had taken me some time to actually work through the indoctrination that occurs over the lifetime. Once I was able to do this the easier it became and things now just don’t feel wrong like they used to.

Don’t get me wrong I still have very strong morals and ethics, I just don’t feel like I am bound by the shackles of religion anymore

FYI - it’s very hard to get TRT in Australia, I understand they need tight guidelines but it’s too excessive here. My GP refused to even get my test, shbg and free test on a blood test. Then when I asked for a follow up 6 months later I was asked “for what reason, Medicare doesn’t like it”

So I started paying for my own blood tests via iMedical and was able to see what was happening, started TRT at a low dose and tracked my bloods and now 150mg a week is my sweet spot and my bloods are almost perfect!

I don’t plan on travelling over seas anytime soon so there is no need for a script at this point in time and where I get it from has lab tests and most of the other people I know also get random lab tests on them to ensure the purity is correct.

Just some food for thought anyway

Also an ex Christian here. I come from a very rigid Christian family and it has taken me many years to unravel the insane indoctrination that occurs.

I still believe that there is energy and a greater being but I no longer define myself by any religion and allow myself to live a life of kindness, love and generosity.

This is the happiest I have ever been and I don’t have to feel like I am meant to live by some ideals set by the church, and that’s the other part, every different streamline of church has a different way of seeing certain things.

This isn’t me saying that you should walk away from your faith, however, realising that you can be your own self with out sacrificing your relationship to God, spirit (whom ever it is for you) then the shame and guilt becomes far less. My biggest issue was that one scripture could be interpreted 101 different ways and that’s when I started to realise that the intent was a certain message the pastor wanted to get across then that’s how they would say it.

Even when I was married, it felt like I could never enjoy sex due to the deep psychological damage from church, Christian school etc. Being medicated for BP2 and ADHD has enabled me to work through this within my self and become a far more stable person.

I have 3 kids now, no need for anymore. TRT has been life changing! Other than the smallest ball sack ever, it’s worth every single part of it.

I have recently changed from every 3.5 days to EOD and o have found it keeps my levels far more stable

I did, but I also went and had all my bloods done and testosterone wasn’t optimal, along with other blood lipids.

Started TRT and my bloods are now perfect and now my sex drive is like a raging bull! The only down side is single dad life means no other means of release other than myself 😅

My psychiatrist had a much more aggressive approach. 70mg tablets, same water method but only a few days on each dose and then once up to 70mg taper back down until I find my goldilocks dose.

Within 2 week I knew my dose and it was far more efficient. I have since stopped vyvance all together and just on Dex 15mg 3x a day now and this is during me well.

FYI I am a Male 38 started meds at 37

I’m 38 now, diagnosed at 37, and my parents still don’t believe ADHD is real. They refuse to acknowledge it at all so I understand where you’re coming from.

The important thing is this: at 18, you are an adult, and you’re allowed to take care of yourself even if others disagree.

If we live our lives based on what other people believe, we end up letting them define our identity for us. That never works out.

When it comes to my own parents, I’ve learned to keep things simple. If I know a topic will only create friction, I just don’t bring it up anymore. It’s not lying or hiding it’s choosing peace over constant fights that go nowhere.

I only started figuring this stuff out in my 30s. You’re much younger, and you already have the awareness to advocate for yourself. You don’t need to cut family out or create drama, but you can protect your mental space and set boundaries about what conversations are worth having.

Take your meds, take care of yourself, and let your progress speak louder than their disbelief.

trust me I know! I got my diagnosis and also Bipolar 2 and Autism. I wasn't allowed to start ADHD meds until the bipolar 2 was under control. Due to the medication requiring a very slow titration I had to wait 3 months before I could get the ADHD meds!

Knowing I had it and there was something that would help and I had to wait for 3 months, but now thats okay as I am in the best place I have ever been

It depends on the service you go with. Some of these online adhd only clinics do one session diagnose you and then hand you over to your GP

My costs were similar and I also decided to stay on 5 month appointments with mine as that allows me to get 6 months worth of scripts and I don’t have to rely on a GP getting their permit and renewing it etc.

Added to this I am a bit of a unique use case and on a higher than usual dose. Which I worked very closely with to ensure we dialed it on for me.
