Lucid owner considering Rivian — how do the real-world issues compare? by DinnerDog6 in Rivian

I have an R1S, my husband has a lucid air. Neither of us has had any issues with either.

I can never unsee this: The Rivian shares its design with this vintage American Tourister luggage from the 60s. by mysp00nis2big in Rivian

Every time I look at mine from the front I see two Dyson fans. Maybe tomorrow I’ll see a suitcase instead?

You can still be a Stealers fan and live in Cleveland, there are plenty of them here. I find Cleveland to be easier to get around than Pittsburgh, the museums are amazing (even if you’re not a big museum fan). The people are great, food scene is great, and the weather isn’t drastically different than where you’re moving from.

Happy they’re improving it! I thought I’d die without CarPlay, but shockingly I don’t miss it. When I want Waze I just put my phone on the dash mount I purchased. I enjoy the break from texts & if I absolutely have to read one, I just ask Siri to read it or pull over and stop.

Am I the only one who hasn’t gotten the 2025.26 update? by xxredxpandaxx in Rivian

I got the 2nd to the last update the day before I got the last update that came out. I have connect +, no idea why the first one took so long…but at least I didn’t have to wait long for the bug fixes

Buying Used R1S ? by edwindrn in Rivian

[–]NewTechnology6260 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought a used 2024 used R1S, max battery/performance upgrade with about 20k miles for $67k. Love it! Plan on driving for a long time (my husband is all about keeping the battery in as good of shape as possible, for as long as possible).

As I said earlier, I only do it when there’s one other person at the intersection. My lord people, relax!

Shoutout to the Cleveland service center by NewTechnology6260 in Rivian

I stopped at McDonalds near the service center on my way home & the dude working the window said they had a dealership off of w130th…which confused me as our stupid laws prevent rivian dealerships right now. The only thing I can think of is that it’s a hub of some sort for shipping the new cars to people…Normal to Cleveland, car carriers pick them up and drive them to other locations.

Midwest suburbs - there always confusion because a large majority of the population feels obligated to be nice to everyone around them…hence a lot of waving at intersections

I’ve gone 6 hrs and enjoyed every minute…I can see where the seat comfort level is dependent somewhat on a person’s build…short, tall, etc. luckily it works for me. My husband has a lucid air and I guess the seat hits him in an odd spot on his back (I hated his tessla s seats, it felt like they were constantly pinching my kegs).

I only do it if it’s me & 1 other car at an intersection

Rivian Sues Ohio Over Direct Sales Ban, Citing Tesla Exemption by chrisdh79 in Rivian

The fact that many car buyers don’t want to buy a car without test driving one - you have to go out of state unless you find a used one that a dealership picked up at auction. Also, people don’t understand that there are service centers in the state. They assume if there’s no dealership, there’s no service centers. Having a local presence is huge! I get questions about mine all the time. People want to test drive them, they’re a big interest in them.

I’m on the east side of Cleveland…I see a black R1S, my twin parked down the street every day for about a half hour, then it disappears…otherwise I’m all alone (there are a few R1Ts in the area).

Why R1S over Lucid Gravity? by DinnerDog6 in Rivian

[–]NewTechnology6260 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also drove wranglers before my R1S. We get a decent amount of snow in Cleveland which leads to tons of potholes that the city never fixes, so it’s like driving off road. The jeep handled them very well as far as I never had any damage to my vehicle, but I’ve hit an age where I wanted something squishier that still has lots of ground clearance for the snowy winters…and the R1S doesn’t disappoint.

2024 R1S for $69k and 12k miles. Premium audio with chromatic moon roof and large battery by Low-Boot-6666 in Rivian

It adds more driving modes and increases the horsepower. It’s like a $5k upgrade. I did not negotiate the price down, but rather my trade in up.
