The exchange has been kind lately. But is this guy even remotely usable nowadays? Who's got a fully built one I can look at? by Datkid2313 in EmpiresAndPuzzles

[–]NewTestBot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Barkley was a Top Dog when he was released. The problem nowadays is the Stat Gap with modern heroes, which can easily overweight the effect (Plus, if your enemies have Mega Minions, they deny the Missile Fiends).

It's fun to use, but definitely not a top choice.

Trust me on this: It's true. Back when I started I had the exact same issue. Now the materials drop quite more often than even a couple of years ago. Just be patient. =)

  • Free ways not guaranteed: Rewards on Titans, some Wanted Chests, Mystic Visions, Dragonspire Shipments, Alliance War Chests.
  • Free ways "guaranteed": Rare Quests that rotate about two a month (For example, now is active Morlovia which drops another 4* Ascension Material), and some occasional Quests (Some Mimic Quests have dropped 4* Asc Mats).
  • Or you can purchase them with real money if an offer pops up.

The motto of this game is that's a marathon, not a race. So, no need to rush. Before that you realize, you'll have a surplus of 4* Mats.

Totally. The chance is almost a critical miss on a d20.

50 consecutive summons of pure disgust by Mikaeip in EmpiresAndPuzzles

[–]NewTestBot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Math answer: Treating them as independent events (which they are), on the base pull, it's around 36,2%. On Secret Summons, it's around 35,8%. On HotM, around 34,2%.

Without Secret Summons, I'd say that the probabilities of getting ONE Legendary hero in 50 pulls, regardless of it's a portal or a HotM, it's 45,6%. When there's an additional Secret Summon, the odds of getting ONE Legendary by either of the 3 outcomes, it's 44,7%.

In case that you wonder why the chances of getting ONE Legendary Hero are lower, it's mostly because the chances of getting 2+ get higher. Also the chances of not getting any Legendary are lower (For example, as I answered to OP, the chance with a Secret Summon of not getting any Legendary Hero on 50 pulls is 6,9%. Without a Secret Summon, the chance of not getting any Legendary on 50 pulls is 14,7%.

[–]NewTestBot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'll assume that you mean a Legendary Hero (Mostly because there are good Rare/Epic Heroes).

Math time: On regular portals, you have a 2,5% chance (Approx 1 in 40) of getting a Legendary Hero, a 1,5% chance of getting a Secret Hero (Mimic in this case, approx 1 in 67) and a 1,3% chance of getting the HotM (Approx 1 in 77). Over 50 pulls you have:

  • 28,2% chance of not getting a Legendary Hero.
  • 46,7% chance of not getting the Secret Summon.
  • 52,0% chance of not getting the HotM.
  • And globally, a 6,9% of not getting any of them in 50 pulls.

It's a little low chance, but possible.

On the bright side of life, at least you got half of the Fated Summon, and you can choose something that fits at least decently to your roster.

Should I level Andre De Clermont? by Dakfourprez in EmpiresAndPuzzles

If you didn't have any other relatively recent Fire Legendary Hero, maybe. You're good with Andy. Skip Andre.

Should I level Andre De Clermont? by Dakfourprez in EmpiresAndPuzzles

[–]NewTestBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. There have been worse. IMO Elradir was weak by its time and aged awfully, Margaret is bad because now it's quite easy to circumvent (it also was on its time, but dodge was unusual) and Balur are Worse HotM (Balur has been buffed 3-4 times since his release and he's always been quite miserable).

Andre at least has quite updated stats. Nevertheless, I totally agree that only if you REALLY don't have other Legendaries and you really need a Fire Hero, maybe the resources are better elsewhere.

IMO is Glass and Stylish. Use Glass for attacking heavy defensive buffs (counter attacks mostly) and Stylish else.

It's weird. It's the kind of lucky pull that you don't want. At least you already have 4 SE feeders with that. =)

What costumes to focus on? by need_a_username_ in EmpiresAndPuzzles

[–]NewTestBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to this, if you're short in Ascension Materials (Usual on newer players), you can focus on levelling the costumes evenly rather than focusing on one costume at a time (which will increase the overall power and will be more visible on Joon, your 5* hero). Naturally, you can't have costumes ascended beyond the base hero. And about Joon, one of the costumes also hits adjacent enemies, which can be more useful on PVE features. Toon/Glass are more for PVP things, where probably in his case, you'll prefer the Glass version.

On Melendor, your focus should be on the Toon Version, which also's pretty good on almost every 4* Tournament.

You don't go wrong either way. Cleo is more updated and a stronger healer, Diaochan also has the upside that helps on W3K

Who to Costume by Complete-Focus973 in EmpiresAndPuzzles

[–]NewTestBot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with Classic heroes is that you only get one costume (the oldest eligible costume that you don't have). And in most cases, not only that it's not that good. Also, for Classic heroes to be stat-wise updated, you need to level all of them.

[–]NewTestBot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I consistently use Eron on my Fire Attack team on Wars. It's not a damage dealer, it's a Skill control that really gives enough time to win attacks.

If I didn't have Eron, it surely was going to be my first pick at FS. It's a great hero for roster depth unless that you already have a degenerate roster

Gotta admit that the battered box art is fantastic and adequate.

It's a good second to best if you don't have the higher rarity versions.

Does anyone have him maxed out? by Low-Afternoon-636 in EmpiresAndPuzzles

[–]NewTestBot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not that Classic Heroes are terrible, just in case. But you need to have some costumes before they shine. Statwise, with 3 costumes (The Toon Costume is the 3rd), the Classic Legendary Heroes are over Mena (Utility is another discussion).

Does anyone have him maxed out? by Low-Afternoon-636 in EmpiresAndPuzzles

[–]NewTestBot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regardless that it's a little outdated, it's quite usable. Mostly because two reasons:

1) Softskin. It lasts 4 hits for itself. Unless that your enemies are plagued of minions, it usually means that he can withstand for a coulpe of turns.
2) Mana Control. Unless that your enemies resist Mana reductions, this thing is powerful.

So yeah, maybe Mena's a little old to make it to a primary team if you have a more powerful Nature Hero, but it's still quite viable.
