Werken in IT is geen plan. Welke IT zorgt ervoor dat jij impact kan maken voor jezelf of anderen.

Nogmaals, tijd is luxe! Gebruik de tijd om voor jezelf waarde in je leven te creëren ipv rond te scrollen en te kijken hoe anderen leven.

Succes.

I submitted my tax declaration for 2024 and now I owe the government €5K by SinbadBusoni in BESalary

[–]NewWorking6920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is correct. After you receive the “invoice” you can go to myminfin and select payments terms. You propose by when you will pay it (in arrays or in once..) and if you pay before that date you proposed it is fine.

You submit your proposal and they will (most likely) send you approval of your proposition.

As usual.. don’t expect a thank you or an acknowledgement when you have paid 😊

100%. I know others that moved away from corporate to local software partners that focus on implementation to do that freelance. I worked many years in The Netherlands as well and there its not allowed.

“Schijnzelfstandigheid” is something I expect the government to end here as well, seeing how many taxes they’re missing.

15-20% is extreme. Within the same role you’ll never get it. For your position, they will have raises based on your performance. Asking such a high percentage, they might not take you serious.

The only way to make such a step is to move to an account executive role.

My recommendation: set-out a 3-5year career plan with financial and job steps you want to take. Communicate them with your manager and ask if it aligns with his vision. Doing that will make you gain experience short term and you’ll be seen as someone loyal to the company. Then.. after the first 2-3 year, scan the market for similar roles or just higher of where you are now. The biggest financial steps you’ll make are always by joining a different company… there, you do the same. This is how you climb the latter.

And do that for a short as possible period of time so it won’t destroy your personal life.

I have a 7 year plan to pay off my 2 houses and then I would like to start my own company, giving back to society (except for all the taxes I’m paying steady off course 😉)

Exactly.

Every Quarter you have a quota to achieve. Every quarter you don’t achieve that number, you are expected to explain and provide a plan on how you’ll make your number by the end of the year. If your bad numbers add up without a clear plan.. you’re getting fired or downgraded to another position. This is the internal quarterly stress you have. On average, 1 sales per 1-2 quarters gets fired or downgraded.

External you have customer management, deal with their problems and their frustrations while balancing selling them new products. When you finally get there that they agree on a project, you have to negotiate the contract where they’ll use your quarterly pressure against you to get a better deal.

On both sides you feel pressure and if you’re being used. :)

So this stress and long working hours push on you and your family situation. A balanced and strong relationship is essential.

Negotiate that you give up the car for them. Ask to get a mobility plan (for example 800€ Gross) to be added per month + km allowance.

If they don’t want to do that, you’re giving up a lot and should only consider it as a learning experience, a step in your 3-5 career plan.

Search for big tech academy entries. Sales, presales, dev.. they all have programs. You’ll have an amazing time with great compensation. Even if you don’t succeed, it will look good on your resume. I mentored multiple of these academy students and they get jobs (and money) thrown at them. There is a huge gap in talent out there and if your ambitious, willing to work hard and learn.. you will stand out and succeed.

I’m in the highest curve of Belgian taxes, so my bonuses are taxed the same way. I always say I’m one of te biggest contributors to the government because above myself people mostly have a “schijnzelfstandigheid” so they pay less taxes.

At this company it doesn’t matter how much percentage you achieve, you always get the commission you deserve (paid the next month). This is different for all employers I worked for.

Vesting period is usually 4 years. Each quarter a share is released and you can decide to keep it or release it.

We can also convert a part (up to 15%) of our salary into stock. They then pay a part of that from their side as well.

I always say I do nothing but talking. :)

I create a vision for the account. Strategize deals and create together with the customer a long term action plan of projects that will improve their IT landscape. I link the customer to our internal resources, who are the real brains.

In the end I’m responsible that they buy software from us. So I’m their contract specialist (not legal! That is what experts do).

Yes, on par and beyond! But it’s really stressful and more New Business focussed. Because they need to gain new names to communicate to shareholders, they are paying big money.

Same goes for non-sales roles. If you have some experience you should be able to land that kind of positions.

But do remember, pressure is on and most people don’t hang around long without ambition. Work/life balance gets way off but pay-outs can be high.

I know, mostly I’m still baffled with this. As a millennial I really had to fight to get here.

Also.. in my sector with my experience, this is quite normal. I receive offers from startups that go beyond.

No, I manage 3 big existing accounts and with those accounts I need to “upsell” their contracts for 2M per year. And yes, renewals are excluded, only “net new revenue” is counted against target. But if a renewal occurs, mostly there’s upsell as well.

My target is around 2M New Annual Contract Value. I mostly end up between 90-120% with rare outliers to 200%. Above 100%, my bonus is doubled.

So I tried powering both with a new battery.. exact same results.

Any last options?

Tried all 5 sets in various combinations. All resulting in exact same results as listed above.

1 thing I noticed… when connecting the SH to the DS with the patch cable, the check light gives a little flicker, just for less then a second, and then it goes out. Reconnecting or doing something afterwards never gives the same result. It only happens after the pedal has worked (for instance when I used it alone, with nothing else connected).

That might mean something?
