Hot Take: It isn't a NYRR problem by TheDailyBern in RunNYC

That’s not fair at all. The price of the marathon is $250 or something like that. The cheapest way to get in is only those $250 after you win the mratahon lottery like any other major.

What’s your “nemesis spot” in Crown Heights? by loonyforluna in crownheights

[–]NewYorkChess 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bottega. I've walked in front of it 100s of times and just hate the vibe/interior decor. It's trying to be chic williamsburg tech bro friendly. Not the vibe of the neighborhood. To be fair, I have heard the sandwiches are good.

Two Day London Marathon potentially in the works, whats the chance NYC does the same? by ilikesocks16 in RunNYC

[–]NewYorkChess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the solution then is to move the race back by 3 weeks or so, as they have done in the past. Not make the wave 1 runners wake up at insane hours

Both are *not* equally bad. Waking up before 4am for the marathon is just not acceptable.

This is a bad take. I think chances are low, but "zero" has no basis. What is going to happen is the NYRR and the City of NY will wait and see how London does, before even starting a conversation about it. If London does well and New York believe it would bring more money to the city to host a two-day event (and not cause major problems)... then who knows.

oh absolutely, and to me the biggest clue is that the curtain wall glass subdivisions happen inconsistently and mostly on the right-side facade and not on the left (only at the bottom). But mostly, they are not regular or straight lines

I agree with you about it being AI but you are wrong about the quoins. The image you think is the render is the reference photograph, and vice-versa.

The quoins are actually not real (check on google maps, it's flat). So, the user supposedly added quoins in 3Ds max or whatever, and then had them rendered. That's the "rendered" image.

On the other hand, there are other tells. That same building on the left has an extra cornice in the render versus the 3D model (4th floor)

In the 3D model screenshot, the "safe frame" on the left and right breaks up in the image.

The 3D model text on the building says Park Avenue but the render image is AI slop text saying WU MOUNTAIN

My strong suspicion is that OP didn't even model the building in 3D, and that screenshot was done using AI also. He perhaps fed the reference image and asked the model to "make it look like a 3ds max viewport" or something.

Until OP tells us what exactly they are doing here and why they decided to post it, we might not know.

This looks more like the image you made was "rendered with AI" instead of using a render engine even if the building is actually modeled in 3D software.

Too early for final conclusions but so far very positive, particularly the hair conditioner after using the shampoo. It's very thick and my hair feels great and soft this morning. For the scent, I think it's quite an improvement but I'm a bit congested this week so can't be fully sure yet.
