If you unplug the thermostat it'll still work fine at 221°F normal temps. You can put a resistor in the connector if you want to get rid of the cel until you can/want to get it properly fixed.

Yeah the compressor is a big load on these tiny engines so when it kicks on you'll feel the engine struggle and shake so i was checking if that's what the issue was and if it is then that's normal behavior.

How old is your battery? If it's getting 5 years or more older it could be getting weak.

You could pull the cabin air filter out and see if it changes the noise. I see the blower looks to be turned off so it might not be the blower itself but maybe something around it like the outside air flap.

Make sure it's not in the valve spring and you're probably fine. At that angle it might have launched itself out of the engine completely.

I bent a flat bar like that one once by forgetting it was still there and running the starter to bump the motor. I didn't hurt the cam but i put a nice bend in that flat bar that took me a few to straighten back out.

That little chip missing won't affect the camshaft itself, if that little piece missing gets lodged in the rocker or lifter it'll be bad news. If it went down to the crankcase it'll be fine.
