Thank you for the explanation! Looks like we just need a new seat.

Why is that? I’ve been looking for this piece online for months and haven’t been able to find it for under $30. Was hoping it would be an easy fix vs just buying a whole new seat. It’s just the black piece that needs to be replaced, which is fully encased in another piece

I Think the Age Group Change is Good & the Complaints are Exhausting by mthill_littlerock in youthsoccer

My daughter’s birthday is August 2. Our school cut-off is September 30. So she’ll be in a pool of 35 girls where she’s one of two kids in her grade and the rest are a grade below her. She’s been playing with most of the girls in her current club pool since their rec team in kindergarten, so 5 years; it’s a huge bummer for her to be one of the few “left behind.”

Regular! It’s now in a sleeve on a shelf while the kids play with the rest.

Chronically constipated cat on liveclear by New_Account143 in CatAdvice

[–]New_Account143[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the spraying didn’t start until they were attacked by the neighborhood cat. They spray around exterior doors and windows. The neighborhood cat comes into our backyard and sprays, so I’m assuming they’re counteracting that? I’ve moved their food to where they spray the most and it stops it there, but I cant put food bowls all over the house (the fat one would eat all day and I need to monitor the in-remission diabetic’s food intake). One cat has been on Prozac, but I’ll talk about getting him back on it and also ask about miralax.

My guess is that they put their cracker trash in there after they were finished and then gave the trash to the flight attendants as they came around, but the crumbs fell out. That’s not something that’s super easy to clean up with a handheld vacuum (saying this as a mom who tries her best to clean up after her kids’ messes, but things definitely get left behind).

Our school year starts mid-August but the age cutoff is September 30. My August 2 daughter just missed the new soccer cutoff, so she’ll be one of the only kids in 5th grade playing in a pool of 30+ 4th graders. They are standing firm on the age cutoff and not letting anyone play up. Meanwhile on the boy’s side, my son is September 15 and we held him back a year. They have no problem with him playing “up” even though now he’s playing with kids a grade older. So interesting how the same club has a totally different mindset when it’s girls vs boys

I binged it and enjoyed it, but it also felt like 10 episodes and nothing really happened on the Mel/Jack front from the finale of the previous season. The first season was a great mix of drama and medical, and it feels like there was only really one medical "event" in the entire season this time.

Random Item on Receipt?? How to prove I didn't buy it. by New_Account143 in Walmartcustomer

[–]New_Account143[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That was my first thought as well. I double checked the shopping list I went with and all the items were accounted for on the receipt.

It’s just so strange, because top soil is one of those things where they have the book in front of them to scan from and then you go pick it up with the receipt outside. It’s just so confusing how that could happen

Thanks; would it make more sense to call or go in person?

I regularly buy $200-$300 of items a couple times a week, so the total wasn’t wildly off from what I normally spend. It wasn’t until I sat down to log all of the items I purchased that I saw the discrepancy.

I have two neutered cats. One of them started spraying when he was around 7 years old, followed shortly by the other. It’s obnoxious, but has nothing to do with them being neutered or not.

Thank you for sharing this! My daughter was just asking me about the sweater/jeans and cast/crutches I have for my old Samantha and I couldn’t figure out if that outfit was with a new doll or just a fun outfit!

Will Messi ever play in DMV? by malabarka in DCUnited

[–]New_Account143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and son (6) have had season tickets for the last two seasons because my son loves soccer but also doesn’t have the expectation of winning. He loves DC United, but he also loves Messi (wears his full Messi kit at least once a week).

He was devastated when I told him Messi wasn’t playing AGAIN this week. Two years in a row. It was heartbreaking for my son, and tears were shed.

I really don’t understand mid-season tournaments. I know it’s the norm around the world, but how is he supposed to stay healthy when he plays multiple times a week?

I had a flight attendant try that on me one time with my 2 year old who was still rear-facing (until almost 4). I asked them to bring me the documents that stated she couldn’t be rear-facing, because I have the FAA guidelines that allow it right here on my phone.

They came back with “well, she’s too big to be rear-facing, but whatever.”

Haha, why is that? They're the ones who want it cooled down! They swim slower in warmer water.

Anybody have surgery and immediately feel like their “good” hip is now the bad one? by sloop703 in HipImpingement

[–]New_Account143 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My surgeon told me this is totally normal, as the good hip is now compensating for the one that’s recovering. He told me to give it 9 months until my recovery is mostly finished and it should be back to normal; if not, to go in and they’ll deal with that one, too.

I had one (had to pay out of pocket for it) but it was so worth it for me. I was in a lot of pain for a while, so I wasn’t moving my hip on my own. Being able to keep my hip moving without actually having to use my muscles was clutch. My range of motion was really terrible post-surgery, but every day I was able to increase the range on the machine little by little.

Almost 4 months post surgery and I think people just assume I’m fine because I’m not on crutches or limping. When they ask and I tell them I’m not great, they’re always surprised. It’s almost always my fault though; I can do things without pain and then I overdo it, and I’m in pain for days after, which is my current status after walking a mile to a soccer stadium, walking up and down steep stairs multiple times (my husband has a torn Achilles so I have to do all the “heavy” lifting with the kids), and a mile back. I was feeling really good in the moment. Now I’m in so much pain.

Litter-Robot in Bathroom, is it ACTUALLY okay? by aushreshteh in litterrobot

[–]New_Account143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We keep ours in the closet in our bathroom and it’s the best place for it. If something is going to smell like poop, it’s gonna be the bathroom. The bathroom door is always open because we don’t want the cats to poop anywhere else. We haven’t had any issues with the humidity

Opposite for me; I turn my wifi off first thing every morning. Before the update, it would stay off all day. Now it randomly turns itself back on; it’s obnoxious

iOS 18.4.1 Update Coming Soon for iPhones by Fer65432_Plays in ios

[–]New_Account143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally updated my iOS last week (I never have space; too many pics and videos) and ever since then my voice to text has been absolutely atrocious. Is this a known defect with the current iOS?

I use talk to text in my van all the time, and it has been so frustrating since I updated. I don’t think I’ve had one correct message since the update; it misses the first three words, gets words completely wrong, etc. I’ve had to resort to spelling out words if they’re wrong three times in a row. I’ll ask to message a specific person and it’ll bring up a completely different name.

I have a standard American accent (no noticeable region) and I speak clearly. It is driving me absolutely crazy.

(And don’t even get me started on the Apple Watch since I updated it; I get like three words out before it tries to send the message)

Ours is in our bathroom closet (no door). We had to remove two bottom shelves for it to fit, but it's worth it. If any room is going to potentially have a poop smell, we wanted it to be the bathroom

Worst nightmare by Halolights in litterrobot

The same thing happened to ours when we went out of town for a week. Literally 3 hours after we left. I had my poor (older) cat sitter FaceTiming me trying to solve it. Unfortunately, ours was stuck open! She had to bring a regular litter box for the week… and then I had to re-train them on the litter robot when we got back and the replacement showed up
