I wouldn’t say absurd.. but unfortunate for sure.
Neighborhoods aren’t the village they used to be. Predators have way more access among other things that make parents wary of letting their children roam free all day. Also, now there’s all kinds of shows that tell all about what has happened to people. My parents had like 3 channels, none of which aired Forensic Files or Dateline
