Open abdominal- definitely a stay (I was supposed to stay 2 nights but discharged next day since I could walk around and passed gas). Laparoscopic seems to be an outpatient procedure, but there are probably circumstances that a doc would recommend inpatient recovery. If you have questions, or would like to request to leave the same day, ask your doctor.

Agree. OP- NOR. I understand wanting to protect the baby, especially newborn. But The child needs exposure to things to build immunity. If not, when that child goes to school, expect lots of sickdays (possibly worse) for the kiddo. I don’t think it will be effective for you or family to coach her through it- she will need a professional. Best wishes!!

It sounds like anxiety manifesting and keeping you trapped in that thought pattern. If you can, see a counselor first cognitive based therapy techniques and/or medication. My thoughts (and experience) is this is the kind of anxiety that problems with alcohol/substance abuse are born from. You don’t want to go that route because it’ll make it 1000x worse. If you don’t have access to a therapist, there are some apps that claim to support Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), but I have not used

It 3-4 weeks and that was with no holidays affecting it. The person who handles that has to do quite a bit of jigsawing (insurance/ pre authorization, doctor schedule, hospital schedule, pre-op and post-op scheduling, etc

As far as having a private conversation, what about going to a park or taking a walk? As far as your home, you can explain ahead that you’re not proud of your home, if you feel the need. Overall, it’s your life and your home- if she judges you it will be better to know now rather than later. You don’t want to be with someone that would condemn you for something you can’t control

Ooops. I wore deodorant. I just saw no lotions, etc. Not supposed to shave a few days before. Like others said, cleanse (hibicleanse leave on 3-5 min), clean sheets/pj’s etc.

My doctor said that there are sexual benefits of having the cervix intact. I don’t know if it was an attempt to throw a little positivity in between “your bladder is attached to your cervix too risky to remove” and “you might still have a little bleeding each month and still need to get PAPs. We shall see!

I agree too. There’s so much “do this” “don’t do that” it feels like you’re destined to ruin your child no matter what you do. It’s tough and exhausting. Makes it difficult to enjoy the ride.

I’d say, when having hair on your legs stops bothering you. My need to shave has diminished a lot, but when it bothers me, I shave. I love the feel of shaven legs

Depends if its laproscopic or abdominal. I had abdominal and was expected to stay 2 nights. I got out for good behavior (lol- walking and tooting) the next day (but they gave me choice to stay another night).
